Does anyone thinks Lotus is behind in schedule for 2014 also do they have engine for 2014 ? i think if this is true Lotus will be in very bad shape for 2014 maybe fighting in midfield.

Surely they are behind schedule if they want to postpone it. I think the Renault engine is not the biggest problem, if they pay or give securities they get it installed.

If they are trying to delay then I'm sure they are behind, there would be no reason to make the request otherwise, but thats just tough and the date shouldn't change. Even if the rest of the teams find themselves in the same situation the date still shouldn't change. it will just make things more exciting in the early part of the season.

As far as the engine goes there is nothing to suggest Renault will not be ready, and there will be more than just Lotus up the creek if they don't produce the engines.

It's not the question of Renault engine being ready or not, but rather if Lotus has an engine supply deal in place for 2014, with Renault or anyone else.

Hilarious request by Renault (they aren't Lotus, let's face facts lol), we can only assume from this that they aren't getting their engines because they aren't paying their bills....

Behind schedule? I think you are missing the point. They don't have enough money to even have a schedule.

So they'll have the engine deal a week later?

Yes - don't you remember? The Quantum money is going to arrive next week (and has been for the last two months) - so a week makes all the difference!

Any bets on how long before Maldonado starts slagging the team off for sabotaging his season/career by not having the car ready?

They are actually ahead of schedule. They are just jerking other teams :)

Best not get the whole jerez test delayed - just booked my flights!

I'm sure that it's just the Christmas post delaying that Quantum cheque now! ;-)

Apparently a journo from SportsBild, Bianca Galrloff, has reported that Boullier may be about to step down, wonder if its true ?.

Pity that such a well established team has to struggle.

This reeks of mismanagement.

Huh? What's going on at Lotus?
So perhaps Hulk made the right choice to sign with FI.

Especially given the potential that was present last season.

If the story is to be believed then Boullier doesn't want to be responsible for the "chaos" at Lotus, whether he's referring to the prospect of Grosjean and Maldonado in the same team is anyone's guess   But i suspect he means the general approach to keeping the team going, lets see if the rumour turns out to have any substance.

As for Hulk, i think he made the right decision regardless after the fiasco that was Quantum.
