The earlier thread "1970s BMW Schnitzer European Touring Car" refers to the 1975 Martha Grand National 12-hour race at Zeltweg.

I understand this was a regular season-ending event, and I am particularly interested in the 1970 race which was won by Niki Lauda's Porsche 908/2. I understand it may have been an Interserie event that year. Does anyone have any race details, reports or (best of all) photos?

Can't offer much, except that the 1970 Martha Grand National took place on 25 October, and that it was not an Interserie race (the first Interserie race at Zeltweg was the 1972 Jochen-Rindt-Memorial).

Martha was an Austrian oil company which also sponsored the Martha-Goldpokal-Rallye and Martha-Journalisten-Rallye.

The 1970 edition was the 1st Martha Grand National. All I could find so far is that Dr. Helmut Marko won the Group 2 race with a Steinmetz-Opel Commodore (#105) and Norbert Orac in Group 1 with a Steinmetz-Opel GT (#155).

Thanks John - most helpful. Interestingly, I see that the winner of the GT class was one "G Koltay"; at the Aspern Group 1 race on 1/4/73, Lauda won in a BMW 2002 backed by "Koltay Racing Center" (sic). I wonder if there is a connection here?
