Its in Martini colours? not the one Hailwood used is it?

Thanks for the kind words.

I think the color scheme may have been inspired by Hailwood's Martini team, but I thought he only rode 350's in Martini livery.

Points of interest on this bike...so for go, some for show are, the under slung rear calibre, large heal guard, aluminum gear/brake brackets, quick fill blanks and non standard filler cap. I'm not sure if these modifications are from the bikes working life or as a result of it refurbishment.

The engine is currently being refreshed and I hope to have out in the fresh air again soon.

Thanks,

Rod

p.s. I quick bit of internet research corrects me, it looks like he rode 250's and a 500 as Team Martini Hailwood around 1978 in the TT.

He did have a 750 as well but it was (as the others) with the later fairing & seat mostly painted gold with the stripes. There was also a standard TZ750 he did a few pre race testing laps on but it didn't have any Martini markings (before it was confirmed) I'm sure Padgetts still own that particular bike.

Apart from not getting imageshack to work, this bloody forum won't even let me cut & paste a hyperlink to the photo of Hailwood Padgett's TZ750, so I'll do it letter by letter

http://farm8.staticf...f5671dde_z.jpeg

Strange long winded way of getting a hyperlink! Which I'm finding doesn't work.

OK put Hailwood TZ 750 Peter Starr into Google image search & it should be the first photo

Have I told my Singleton story? Well, he was at Donington, there was loads of stars at same meeting, Roberts Spencer Rossi (G) plus all the usual suspects Mamola etc. I thought it was a great idea to ask Singleton about his Arai helmet as I'd never seen one up close, he was great about it & really pushing out the famous Southern drawl. So I said it was a shame he hadn't brought Elmer, which he said was difficult flying this far. Then he winked & said,, you know his real name is Elmer the third?

A bit later on, he crashed big time down Craner. He ground the sides off his boot & lost (how does it go?) This little piggy went to market, but in this case it went for a burton at Donington

Swiss cross on the helmet of the other one...having said that, I think I can see the name Cross on the bike screen.

Nice to see a couple of pics of my Dad at the start of this thread.  Cheers Graham.  I've got a few of my own, including some nice ones of his TZ750.  If only I could work out how to get them up on here....  It doesn't seem to allow my photo bucket links...  Shame.

Figured it out.  Yes, that's me aged 4, around 1977 on Dad's TZ750, crossing the line and taking the chequered flag - in my own little world!

Hello all!

I am just new here, joined in today because of this lovely topic.

Couldn't stop looking at all the nice TZ750 pictures :drunk: .

I have some other pictures, Jack Middelburg with his Nico Bakker TZ750 at Daytona in 1977.

He was one of our favorite riders in those days, sadly enough he died young in 1984, like many others.

1977_J125_zpsjhendh5p.jpg

1977_J74_zpselbpeqiq.jpg

Pictures from the Jack Middelburg website.

I found the total wreck of this bike in 2012 and restored it again that winter.

Can post some more pictures if there is interest.

Best regards,

Leo.

Sorry it took a while.

I found the bike as a real basket case 3 years ago.

TZ1_zpsz6qlcwwi.jpg

Most of the parts in boxes, nice puzzle it was.

TZ3_zpswkan8wqg.jpg

I restored it that winter with the help of some racing friends, they provided parts and addresses.

Now I am riding the bike in parades here in Holland, it turned out to be a very reliable beast.

Oh, I am sure there are more sleeping beauties to be discovered.

I have seen a few the last years.

During my quest for parts and contacts, I visited some older motorcycle collectors.

Some would have to live for another 300 years to finish all their projects.

And don't even think of asking them if they will sell some parts; not a bolt :rotfl: !

George Beale had a large collection of TZ750's in the late 1980's, he bought mine in 1987, and at one point must have amassed almost every UK based bike which had come up for sale.

Often wonder if he still has them all, or if they were eventually sold to make space for other bikes.
