I heard some rumours that Kimi said the Schuberth SF1 is too heavy, so the manufacturer is working on a lighter version for him. He's wearing an unbranded Bell until it's ready.

I heard about that for the first time.

Or Kimi is using a Schubert or he is using a transperant aero part on the back of the helmet.

Edit:

Bell with transperant aero part.

I can´t understand this, he found Schuberth too heavy and because of this he choose wear a Bell? He always wore Arai and everybody knows Arai is the lightest brand.

he used Bell and that has caused some talk between Alonso and Ferrari too ,because Alonso wants to use some things that Ferrari deal doesnt let him use.

Yes, Kimi always prefered different racing gear, in his first Ferrari years he wore an Alpinestars suit without the logos (and Ferrari is sponsored by Puma) and in his Mclaren years he wore a glove with a very very short pulse, was possible to see his pulse´s skin and the glove also was from Alpinestars without logo (and Mc is a Sparco team) and finally, in his F1 comeback he wore Arai helmet in a Bell sponsored team in 2012.

He switched from Arai to Bell during winter testing before 2013, maybe at the request of Lotus.

Incorrect.

Would also like to add I have never seen Kimi use anything but Sparco gloves for the entirety of his McLaren career.

I might also point out that in 2007 Alonso stuck with Puma gloves over Sparco. DC and Mika always used different shoes too, Mika with Asics and DC with Adidas.

Id say it was personal preference, or else why would have go to Bell at Ferrari instead of Arai? Makes 0 sense. The new HP7 is a very good helmet.

NO, YOU ARE WRONG!!!!

Look this picture, this is an Alpinestars suit (look the sholders) with the Puma logo:

5zm6jc.jpg

Read the comments:

http://kimiraikkonen...bmw-at-bahrain/

Kimi prefers Alpinestars rather than Puma, which is Ferrari’s clothing sponsor, and he also had Alpinestars race overalls at some points during last season, if you noticed the difference in the press conferences.

http://www.kartingas...m/topic667.html

And yes, here wore Alpinestars gloves between 2003 and 2006, even in the Mclaren sparco team, Button did the same:

nou4xy.jpg

Raikkonen wearing Alpinestars gloves without the logo:

Why don´t you go to do some research before say that people who did it are incorrect?!?!?!?!

I think it´s an aero thing, Bell and Schubert are helmets with ver similar sizes and Arai is smaller and narrow.

R8main put together a clean special helmet for Bahrain this weekend.  Not too bad IMO, wish his normal helmets were as clean as his specials...

I'm not sure why it's a travesty. It's different, it's not too bad, and it's inspired by someone fairly well known. Shame he didn't run it exactly like that instead of applying the team sponsors.

Oddly it's more of a coherent design than his normal "I'll just stick another line in here for no ostensible reason" approach.

Kimi using a Bell during the same test.

I wonder if he's still deciding which brand to use.. :well:

Interesting, in the past it was said schuberth developed special version to schumacher that did bring 10 bhp to engines...so maybe they are testing could there be some benefits from helmet shape.. Or simply that schubert did nbring a new version for Kimi to try but he still didnt like it or something needed to be fixed.

Its odd that he doesn't use the Schuberth, I thought he would have to wear one as I thought Ferrari had a technical partnership with them.

I quite like this mosaic design actually.

Only weird thing though is that the placement of the colours make it look a bit like a Red Bull/Torro Rosso lid!

Rosbergs helmet is by far the best...Simple,elegant...a far cry from the usual complicated multicolor designs.

I like Grogros new helmet too...reasons same as above.

And like ive commented before, this is by far the worst helmet ive seen on Kimi since his debut...2012 Lotus was magical......classy.

I think the 2012 helmet was the worst. To much white. The 2014 helmet is much better then 2012, in my opinion. But I think the best of al was his 2005 McLaren helmet with the blue and red.

Button has always had a white halo, even in his Honda days.

Anyway, perhaps to have room for the new title sponsor, if that ever comes.
