Hi everybody,

I do have a few questions about Alfred Neubauer.

At the moment I am writing a story - an imaginary one, including Mercedes in motorsport, so I cannot ignore mister Neubauer. So I like to ask a few questions about him, to do him no harm in his personality in my story...

The story is in 1964, so Alfred Neubauer will be something like 73 years old. You think he might be retired, but I like to see him in a senior role, like Head Racing Department of Mercedes, like that. Remember, imaginary...

That means he will not be in charge of the role he had in 1953, 1954: teamboss of Formula 1 team Mercedes (in my story, they never quit) and that position should have been taken over by hsi right hand.

I hope anyone can give my some insight in the personality of mr. Neubauer, and I like to know who - in case Le Mans 1954 should never have happened - would most likely have taken the role of teamboss in Mercedes' Formule 1 team.

Hoping for some good information. :)

Thanks for replying.

Erwin.

I think you're confusing your 1954s with your 1955s...

I've not ever seen anything about anyone who might have taken Neubauer's place. You might have to elevate one of the mechanics who carried the dish of hot water and a towel to Stirling Moss up to that position?
