Hunter Valley (Australia) motoring enthusiasts will be saddened to learn of the passing of Jim Bayliss

aged 76.

Jim passed away on 6th February 2014 following a period of illness.

He commenced motor racing in the mid 1960's in a self built "Jay Bee Clubman" sports car and in the

ensuing years almost 20 examples were constructed in his small workshop in suburban Broadmeadow.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday 12th February 2014 at Pettigrews Chapel, 12 Harris Street

Wallsend, Newcastle commencing at 12 noon.

They wren't spectacular or innovative cars, but they were out there running...

I'm surprised to hear he built so many, however. Thanks for the posting Brian.

I have no idea, it's never been mentioned...

But it's probable they were distant relatives anyway.
