Amongst the very old stock of Model Garage lies a built John Day model of a slightly odd looking Testa Rossa. This has the front end of a TR60 but the high tail of the TR61. It seems to be based on 0780TR which was a 1960 car developed into the later 1961 shape. So far as I can make out it was second at Sebring in 1961 in this configuration and second at Le Mans with the 1961 "twin nostril" nose and a larger deeper screen. It was also second at the Nurburgring 1961 driven by the Rodriguez brothers but I cannot find a photo of this.

The 'Ring car was no 5 which is the number the model carries, does anyone know whether it actually raced at the 'Ring in the same configuration as at Sebring? Many thanks.

There's a photo of #5 in the 1961 N'ring at http://ruiamaraljr.b...URBURGRING 1961 It doesn't show the whole tail, but perhaps enough to help you.

Thanks for those, joBo supplied some photos as well which show that not only is the model incorrect by having the 1960 style nose, it also has the wrong style numbers! :stoned: I think a rebuild in Sebring trim is called for.

Thanks for you help both Rob and JoBo.
