I thought I would bring back an old game which I quite liked, the Streaker's Club! Since reliability seems to be a hot topic this season I think this game could be very interesting.
This game was founded by Bjorn in 2004, but it was only run in that year. Here is a link to that year's starting thread: http://forums.autosp...streakers-club/. Bjorn has not been active on the Forum since 2005, so I hope he doesn't mind that I'll take over his game.
The rules:
Guess the streaks. All guesses must be posted in this thread before the start of the season (before FP1 in Australia) for full points, they can be altered however, but this will cut your points for that category. Altered guesses must be posted in new threads that are started after every race where I'll keep you updated on possible winners, eliminated drivers/teams etc.
This is split into subsections: The Season-long Games, where it doesn't matter when during the season the streak is achieved, and the Start-of-season Games, where everything is counted from the first race of the season.
The Season-long Games
Drivers
DL1: Who will get the most pole positions in a row?
DL2: Who will finish most races in a row?
DL3: Who will finish most races in the points in a row?
DL4: Who will get the most podium places in a row?
DL5: Who will get the most wins in a row?
Teams
TL1: Which team will get the most pole positions in a row?
TL2: Which team will finish most races in a row (one car classified is enough)?
TL3: Which team will finish most races in the points in a row (one car in the points is enough)?
TL4: Which team will get the most podium places in a row (one car on podium is enough)?
TL5: Which team will get the most wins in a row?
The Start-of-season Games
Drivers
DS1: Who will go the longest without retiring from a race?
DS2: Who will go the longest without finishing a race?
Teams
TS1: Which team will go the longest with both cars making it to the finish?
TS2: Which team will go the longest without getting a single car to the finish?
Rules
1. Points
1.1. For guessing correctly before the start of the season, 10 points are awarded for each question. The points will then decrease for every change as follows:
1 change: 6 points
2 changes: 4 points
3 changes: 3 points
4 changes: 2 points
5 or more changes 1 point.
If you wish to join the game after the season has started, you are most welcome to do so! However, you are then considered to have already made one change, i.e. your maximum possible score would be 6 points for each question. Any such guesses need to be posted in the new thread started after the most recent race.
1.2 There can be more than one correct guess. However, you may not pick multiple answers.
If no driver manages to win two races back to back, guessing any winning driver will give you points (as all winning drivers have an equal winning streak of one race).
1.3 All results are based on races finished or not finished, nothing else.
If two drivers have a finishing streak of 10 races and both are knocked out in the race, one on the first lap, the other 30 laps later, they are still tied with a streak of 10 races. Laps aren't worth anything.
2. Altering guesses
2.1 If for some reason there is only one possible outcome in some category, no further changes will be allowed in that category and it will be closed for alterations immediately.
Before the Hungarian GP three drivers have finished every race, so they have a finishing streak of 12 races. Two of those three crash in Hungary, and every other driver has failed to finish in one of the three previous races. This means that there is only one possible winner in the category left after the Hungarian GP, and no guesses for most finishes in a row can be altered anymore.
2.2 Changes will be allowed in both games as long as there is more than one possible outcome.
2.3 The guesses for each player will be updated before every race. Any difference between the guesses for a player from the start of one race to the other will be counted as a change. Therefore, a driver may change his guess as often as he likes between GPs, it will only be counted as a single change.
A player decides to alter one of his guesses after the Monaco GP. A few moments later, he changes his mind and changes it back to what it was before. Still not satisfied, he changes the guess once more just before the start of the Canadian GP weekend. This will only be counted as one change, not three. Had he not altered it the last time, this would not have counted as any change at all.
2.4 Deadlines for changes is before the start of FP1 of each race. Changes posted after the start of FP1 will not be taken into account and not automatically transferred as guesses for the next race.
3. Results
3.1 Results are based on official time sheets. A driver is considered to have finished if he is classified.
I will also include a bot player, CHARLIE, who will for every question guess the driver/team that was the correct answer for the 2013 season. If the 2013 correct answer is not in F1 in 2014 (unlikely), CHARLIE will pick the second placed one etc. If there are multiple 2013 correct answers CHARLIE will pick the driver/team that finished highest in the championship. CHARLIE will not alter his guesses during the season.
Please put your initial entries in this thread in the same format as I will post CHARLIE's guesses in the next post.
If you have any questions or comments, please post them here.
Enjoy!
