Guys this ad has started appearing on every page I'm on:

2l9gf5.jpg

Not a computer problem because I've had identical ads on 3 different machines and 2 different interweb connections.

Guys this ad has started appearing on every page I'm on:

Tufty,

Follow the advice suggested by Grayson a few posts above;

To address two of the main points from the last few posts:

- Our ad ops team work hard to block any inappropriate adverts from the site. You shouldn't be seeing anything pornographic or offensive, nor should there be adverts with sound or adverts which take over your whole screen without some sort of interaction from you. You also shouldn't be seeing adverts which are so complicated that they slow down the rendering of the page on a modern browser. Where we can't sell all of our advertising inventory directly, we offer the inventory to third party agencies in bulk and they sell this on (if you're seeing ads which have nothing to do with motorsport or motoring, it probably hasn't been sold directly by our team). If any of these third party adverts are offensive then we will try to block them, so if you see anything like this then please E-mail me the details (preferably with a screenshot and the country from which you're viewing the ad) and we will add those clients to the block-list.

You have obtrusive rather than offensive, but I'd say that's an appropriate one to report.

Thanks for the report, Tufty. That's exactly the sort of content which we don't allow on our site. Can you confirm the country you're viewing these from so that I can pass this on to our Ad Ops team?

I've split this out into its own thread so that anyone coming to the Feedback forum knows where they can report problem ads...

I know you said you thought it wasn't a computer problem, but the logo at the bottom of the popup says it's from Qualitink. Which is adware, probably piggybacked in on something else like a video player. Try running this:

No change, still popping up. As I say, only showing on this site, and not only on my machines but university ones as well.

Autosport's own advertising banner below the fixed banner at the top of opening screen still is slow to load and interferes with the log-in pop up box.....

Which banner are you talking about, do you mean on the homepage or the forums? And do you mean on desktop or mobile?

Which banner are you talking about, forums

And on desktop (IE11)

Slowtoload_zps27c544f4.jpg

[EDIT: usually plenty of time to take a screen dump, maybe 5-10 seconds and sometimes longer, whilst waiting for the adverts to load....]

Lately, the Canadian-based "Debt reduction" ads (two in particular IIRC - one with a photo of a roll of bills whose company I don't remember, and another from Equifax or Equitax)
are causing severe slow-downs.

On the main page of the mobile site I just now got a ad that wanted me to "meet eastern beauties". I refreshed a couple of times but it never apperd again.

I don't know if it something caused by my computer but the recent Porsche ad at the top/centre of the webpage was a nightmare. It kept overlapping the log-in box, so I couldn't select the cursor in the username and password fields.

That advert was discussed in this thread. Our ads team were going to fix this, and to either run a version of the advert which wasn't causing any problems or run an alternative campaign. Have you had any problems with this in the past week, or was it before that time that the Porsche ad was causing problems?

Unfortunately I was too quick on the back button to figure out which ad was causing this, but twice now I've suddenly been transferred to this site: http://premiuminternetdownloader.net .

It tells me that I need to install an updated version of Flash, and it automatically downloads the installer. A virus scan on the .exe file doesn't find any threat, and malwarebytes found nothing either, but I deleted it without installing anything anyway. Screw that.

All day I've been getting bounced every 3rd or 4th thread I've opened to the site of the last ad I scrolled past in the previous thread - no matter what it is. When I'm still on Autosport the page never completely loads according to whichever browser or computer I use [browsers - Chrome, Firefox, Opera; OS - XP, Vista, 7].

I've been in auto-play hell for about a week now for one particular video that begins with an ad.

Introductory ad (it's for Nissan, if that helps):

The video itself:

Thanks in advance.

The Autosport page on my tablet has been infected with a malware/adware from consumer-reviews.info.

Edit, now it is Zb1.zerodirect1 and cloudscout which all appear to be the same thing.

I'm getting both these ads as well, on a mobile phone--the incredibly aggravating about them is that they play sound if I even run my finger over them to scroll the page (using IE on Windows Phone 8).

Any way we can get this looked at? They're making it quite frustrating to browse the site on a phone.

Are you an AutoSport+ Member? The reason I ask is because I have been using Adblock for over a year very successfully and today the AutoSport Site detected I was running Adblock. A banner popped which invited me to learn more as it offers an ad free experience to AutoSport+ members.

I'm asking our ads team to look into these autoplay ads as we speak. Thanks very much for the examples in this thread, that makes it much easier to identify why this has been happening and to block the offending ads.

We've got a policy of blocking any ads which have sound (unless you specifically press click to play or anything like that) so these ones have slipped through the net.

No, I'm not.

The above ads are gone. Thank you!

Every time I open a thread at the moment I'm getting a sound-based advert. I've not yet found where on the page this sits, as all the ads I'm seeing are WhatCar and certainly nothing to do with computers, theatres or anything else I have heard being talking about. I'm at a loss on this one and can't offer any more info than that. AdBlock doesn't stop it though, nor does it work on anything else on the forum.

Have you checked your AdBlock settings? If you just downloaded it then you may not have any filter subscriptions enabled. You may also find that uBlock Origin is better anyway ...

On the iPhone (I'm in Italy right now), mid page banner is clicking itself toward some king.com domain or an app download within apple store.

Since yesterday, I'm having problems when I read any of the site pages from my tablet.

Quite often, I will get a pop-up and will be automatically redirected to www.mobilbean-tvirus.com/361/ES/so.php and, from there, to www.360securitywards.net/zhong/hh-es.php

In all cases, it coincides with the avert on top of the site being about "internet security".

I'm in Spain.

Yes. Yes. I have exactly the same problem with the same websites you mentioned. It directs you to a fake Google Play store.

It is very annoying and have not found a solution so far. It happens when I visit the mobile autosport news and forum sites on my Android tablet.

Hi tonight when I open the forum threads I am receiving a popup ad telling me I'm eligible for a free iPad and then redirected to a site with a survey or similar. This is on my android phone in the UK. Never had any trouble before. Get new iphone.com is the site.

I'd just like to compliment the hilarious Christian Horner watch ad that I'm getting when viewing in the United States.

Thanks for the reports in here - I'm passing them on to our Ad Ops team.

(Except for Ross's report. That one sounds like it's meant to be there.)

I've got another one. This one locks up Chrome and causes my antivirus program to flash a malware threat from http[colon]//ignore_this_destination[dot]com/userbind?src=lvr.  It seems to be coming from this ad that automatically plays video ads:  http://i260.photobuc...o5/Untitled.png

Please bear with me as I’m not very computer-literate and I’m not even sure that this is the right thread for this problem. What has started happening is this. When I’m on the page that lists all the threads in a forum and click on a thread, I get taken to the thread straight away, no problem. When I then try to return to the thread list page by clicking the back button, nothing happens. If I then right-click on the back button I see something like this:

Screen%2028%20Feb.png

As can be seen, there are now a number of pages, which apparently have something to do with Google, interspersed between the thread I’m on and the thread list page I wish to return to. There are only a few in the screen shot above; sometimes there are dozens, and the only way to get back to the thread list page is to reload the forums from scratch. It doesn’t always happen – probably 50-75% of the time at the moment.

I’m now hoping for some advice as to why this is happening, and what can be done to stop it. As far as I can tell. it only happens on these forums.

Some annoying animated ads have been appearing recently, on the right in posts and topic lists.

The code includes this: src="//metrics.adzip.co/redirect.php

I'm adding a screenshot to convey the urgency of the situation:

Those may be being served up via a third-party cookie set by another site. Cookiepedia suggests that several UK news sites like the Mirror, Telegraph, Independent and Sun inject them - as does the soccer fansite Who Ate All the Pies.
