Best: Mercedes just shades it over Red Bull.

Worst: Caterham, easily.

Very disappointed with Williams' Martini effort - could have been brilliant, but instead is quite bland.

In trying to literally judge livery, and not association with team, or shape of the car; in my own subjective opinion, I'd order it this way:

Mercedes - Always liked these two colours together, but this is the first time they've been blended nicely. I like the accents on the wheels. I like the base colour.

Williams - I like the simplicity, and there is a nostalgia element with the Martini stripes, but it is a bit of a disappointment to me after seeing some fan speculations and impressions before-hand. I both like the fact it's primarily a flat base colour, and dislike how it looks a bit blank canvas.

McLaren - I love how this thing looks on track in real sunlight. I actually prefer it to the Mercedes, but this livery won't stay, there is an unknown second colour to come.

Red Bull - It's a busy livery but I think it works well. It's hard not to look at this livery and not associate it with brilliance now, but I remember liking it in 2009, and I think the branding of it is very iconic and balanced.

Force India - Busy but striking. Great colours.

Ferrari - Looks a bit all over the place as usual. I actually think they should ditch the black and stick with their trademark colour.

Sauber - If I think about it, I like it, but I think I'm somehow associating it with HRT. This would normally be lower down my list.

Caterham - Boring, but I like the single flat colour 'trademark' thing.

Lotus - I think the black and gold doesn't look good on smooth rounded cars. The red just makes it worse.

Toro Rosso - Busy and also somehow lacking any contrast.

Marussia - Looks 'web designer' to me. I just don't like it.

I was going to ask if the McLaren was in its finished livery? Surely they must have a sponsor coming along soon. I can't see it racing with MP4-29 written on the sidepods!

I think the liveries are all fairly decent to mediocre this season, with none particularly standing out.

Just a quick search has both Rosberg and Schumacher calling the car a Silver Arrow in 2010 and Toto Wolff also called the car a Silver Arrow this January.

You misunderstood my post. I was talking about McLaren.

Best livery only or best looking car?

Best livery is Williams, but best looking car is Mercedes.

Williams on the top for me. Outstanding livrery: simple but eye catching.

And i still don't understande the black part on the Mercedes engine cover...it just doesn't looks right to me.

But Caterham's one is totally uninspiring, so we have a winner (of the worst).

I went for FI as the best because it is different and Sauber as the worst. I wish Ferrari had changed things a bit. I saw a really nice mock-up with a lot more black in the livery which would have been cool.

Mercedes, whcih I see has a lot of votes, is in effect the same as what they've had for years, though had always been quite nice.

I could have chosen either of the Red Bull ones as the worst as think they could both do with an update. Sauber's though is just boring.

The Force India looked nice in the carefully selected studio angles, but it's quite horrific on track. I don't expect it to last another season.

They all look pretty ordinary to me. The Caterham has a great shade of green like last year, though.

The Williams is a beaut, classy and understated. The only way it could be improved is if they blacked out the nose tip to match the front wing like red bull did.

In no particular order.

Ferrari didn't read my memo right I guess. Blame Google translate. It said: Red Car, Black Wings. Now they have spilled black everywhere. To make matters worse, the car looks like it has parked in front of a daycare and the toddlers were given random stickers.

Lotus/FI. Not much to say... someone tripped and all kinds of colors fell on them.

Sauber/McLaren. Not much to say... someone tripped and no colors fell on them. When McLaren gets a bit of the West livery back, epicness could happen.

RB/TR: livery is starting to look same old same old. I've seen some nice concepts in the past, but it looks meh. Never utterly liked it though.

Marussia/Caterham: livery is seen at the start and about twice a race. I have a soft spot for the Marussia one though, the Caterham needs the yellow for the green to look better.

Williams: again, some fanmade concepts looked better than the end result. Have to see it in the flesh though.

Mercedes: has somehow swapped their colors with McLaren. To bad Petronas insists on teal. It really looks crap with the silver since they started and it still looks crap today.

Top3:

Williams

McLaren

no-one.

wow - for once, I matched with 'the crowd' lol -

Def Williams for best nose and the new Martini scheme helps put them at the top (Merc and Marussia have nice lines too) ...

Think we all agree that Caterham is abismal ... or an abomination :((((((  Rumour is they'll have a new nose come Oz ...
