Drivers are getting more and more reluctant to answer these press conference questions normally. 

 

I mean, the questions were fine this time. But the drivers are not sharing any sort of information or they're answering in riddles or misleading ways. "Are there any new parts on the cars?" - basically everybody hesitated to answer or they gave a humorous response ("no, there was food in those boxes"). I mean, these kind of comments have been present in F1 for a while, but it felt a lot more annoying and over the top this Thursday.

The weather forecast suggests teams will get the chance to set up their cars up in dry conditions on Friday and Saturday, but rain is predicted for race day. The most anticipated Grand Prix in years will run over 58 laps or 307.574 kilometres (191.11 miles) and starts at 1700 hours local time (0600 GMT) on Sunday.

 

& WET (maybe)

AAArgh. I can't decide whether to watch FP2 or not. I'm sooo excited and I really want to but I'm not sure getting up at 5:30 AM is the sensible thing to do. Either that or record it.  :well:

hALo and welcome to the new season. Lots of things have changed BUT for one thing... it still feels like ChristMAS for F1 fans and for those who got bored of Vettel driving like a roBOT.

Damn right it's time to head back to the main race thread.

 

If Williams have a good racecar in the dry it should be interesting to watch Massa's and Bottas's progress through the field. Same with Vettel, if his car's good enough for a podium.

 

Other thing I'll be looking out for is whether the cars look as much of a handful in race trim as qualifying. They weren't quite Lotus-Renault-round-Brands-Hatch hard to handle but it's a great return to cars that look like they're on the limit. I hope all the millions of development dollars never find a single point of downforce.

 

But realistically the question remains whether they'll be able to recover downforce at the same rate as the engine guys add horsepower. Just look at Indycar from the introduction of the turbo DW12 to see what's possible even with big development restrictions. They looked like go-karts at St Pete 2012 but by mid-2013 they looked pretty awesome.

 

Hell yeah! I'm excited about F1 again! And we haven't even said Pirelli once!
