Ive been trying to find out but is the SLS still the safety car, Mercedes are/have stopped the production of the SLS. I was wondering if it will be replaced for 2014 or if they will give it a final season.

Wait I can't get one anymore. I had saved up almost 0.1% of the showroom price...

The GT AMG is due to be revealed in time for the German Grand Prix in July. Powered by a new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre modular V8 engine, the GT AMG will cost around £100,000 when it goes on sale. While official output figures have yet to be revealed, AMG insiders say it will deliver in the region of 493bhp.
Possible it could take over mid-season...

Thanks for the replies, Maybe they will use an SL again if they don't want to use an SLS. That GT looks rather good even in the camo colours.

If they don't use a GT AMG from later in the year, maybe they'll go for a C63.

A GT3 SLS or DTM car would be fantastic.

Or maybe an E63 AMG, there not too slow, and yes a GT3 or a DTM would be good, sadly it will never happen :/

A McLaren P1 would be nice........ and relevant on a few levels.

Paul Di Resta will ride a unicycle around the track in an attempt to get a 2015 seat.
That torment would suffice. I can't for the life of me, get the hate that I feel for Franchitti's cousin, but by Nuvolari, is it pungent.

Then maybe we can get a time set at the Nuburgring F1 track

Just another Mercedes powered car in front of the Renaults.

A P1 would be like an SLS to GP2.
Seriously F1 needs way more power.

There's a new S-Class Coupe (previously known as CL), maybe they could use that in AMG version.

A CLC Kompressor in case that don't impress her (sic).

As a concession to Renault, the FIA and Mercedes have agreed to use a Renault Twingo. It's the only way that a Renault powered car will lead a race this season...

Yeah, P1 would be great, or the fastest GT-R, i'm tired of looking at slow Mercedes, and they are going to even downgrade it...

That's what will happen. The Safety Car is a marketing tool for Mercedes. The SLS will soon go out of production and make way for the GT AMG which will replace it as a safety car.

Sorry to disappoint you but the P1 is powered by a McLaren engine built by Ricardo. Nothing to do with Mercedes.

So now the SC has a bigger engine than the F1 cars behind it. *shudders*

SC had a bigger engine than the F1 cars last year and many years before that.....

I think an F40 would make a hell of a SC. Or a Diablo SE30.

HOLY CRAP, I remember seeing this video way back when but I always failed at finding it because I was looking for combinations of "thursday indianapolis us gp timing practice" etc. Guys behind the wheels were certainly having lots of fun.

The safety car is supposed to slow them down, not speed them up.
