If that happens, the first car to admit they cant run

Maldonado as you cover both mechanical and prang (and failed to make it that far)

What if there's a pile-up at the first lap? How does that count?
#6
Posted 14 March 2014 - 04:30
Grosjean or one of the Caterhams based on FP1

First driver to get out of his car?
Driver who did the least distance?

Maldonado. If he even gets on the starting line it will be at the back - and if the car don't break down chances are that he will drive into someone. Probably due to a combination of boneheadedness and that Lotus haven't dialled in the rear breke-by-wire brakes (and he is unable to adjust to that).

Yep driver that makes the least distance

I said Maldonado too. But I'm thinking the STR guys don't look too good either in the first corner, giving their horrendous brake-by-wire issues today.

Grosjean or Sutil. I want Sutil to break Martini's pointless record of 118 races without a podium. A DNF would help him on his way.

i say one of the three rookies to be 1st car out
#13
Posted 14 March 2014 - 22:12
From FP1 & 2 it wouldn't surprise me at all if the caterhams and at least 1 lotus don't even make it onto the grid, but in the unlikely event they all do I went for maldonado

Either Lotus due to reliability or Maldonado taking out himself

No I undertand, your comments about Sutil, and why DiResta was superior, in your opinion, full of hate

+1 I dont get these kinds of people..
I wonder why so many people think (or hope) for a Lewis retirement. I voted Grosjean. I think it will be one of the Renault powered cars who will DNF first.

WAT! Full of hate? FULL OF HATE! THUMBS DOWN?!? LET THE ADRIAN SUTIL COUNTDOWN CLOCK COMMENCE!
In just under18 weeks, 1 day, 12 hours
We shall celebrate a new record.
(Btw, opinion? He was 19 points more superior than Sutil FACT!)

Grid position. Highest starter is first DNF.

"These kinds of people" ? That's straight up discrimination talk, man.
Btw, why do you and the other guy assume I'm 'full of hate'? I'm not a fan of Sutil, but I don't hate him. Was I disappointed Di Resta was shunted out of F1 but Sutil stuck around? Yes, but I was more disappointed when Kobayashi left after 2012. So just don't assume that 'you don't get these kinds of people'.
I noticed he might surpass Martini's record and am having a bit of fun of it. A bit like I wanted New Zealand to make the World Cup this year so they could maintain their unbeaten run of three draws.

I reckon it'll be at turn one, particularly if its greasy. So most likely any of the cars starting from ~P7-~P16.
If the first corner is clean then it does seem quite likely to be a Lotus, or perhaps a Caterham.

Lotus drivers will take each other out.

Why would anybody want that. He's a perfectly fine driver, bit of an everyman driver, truth be told and I'm sure that he's a nice human being.Grosjean or Sutil. I want Sutil to break Martini's pointless record of 118 races without a podium. A DNF would help him on his way.

Massa, always unlucky in Melborne.
Turn 1 of course.

Because it's a bit like what Bender says in Futurama;
Bender: If I'm not going to catch a fish, I might as well not catch a big fish.
If you're going to miss out, you may as well do it big and in some style. If you never finish on the podium, at least try to do it as much as possible so you can become an obscure answer for a pub quiz question. If he does finish on the podium, he'll have the also dubious honour of most race starts before finishing on the podium.

First retirement??? Probably me, the race doesn't start until 2:00 A.M. here.

I bet one of the Lotus cars doesnt even start the race

So who will be first to drop out? Either mechanical retirement or prang?
Place your bets....
I'm going with Maldonado
Maldonado has got two chances of being the first, the irony is though its normally an innocent victim of the donuts like him and Grosjean that go out. Grosjean or Maldonado are odds on to cause an accident at the first corner whether or not it'll be them that goes out though.

It could be anyone but Lotus seems as safe a bet as any.

will Lotus even be allowed to start, no way they did a lap within 107% all weekend long, letting them race is just asking for them to bring out a safety car tbh.

Even though my earlier jokey comment was removed, I'm quite bemused to see Hamilton was indeed as I suspected the first regular - starting crashes aside - retiree of the Grand Prix.
Kobayashi's move was more spectacular though, so I suppose he would be a deserved 'winner', too.
