Damn, he went H.A.M
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:17
"Do you have your pass?"
Looks a bit like The Stig there.
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:21
It was brilliant
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:25
Haha fantastic. Laughed a lot, also how he explains himself to that guard: "I'm a driver"
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:27
This happened on advert break for SkyF1 viewers, so many didn't see it live - (I had both NBC and SkyGo running - and saw all of it live - was funny)
For starters, it was not a 'Clash' (nowhere near) - so I'd suggest removing that bit from the OP's title - misleading....
Secondly, I agree with someone upstream - now we know how to get into a F1 event - Grab a firesuit and helmet, and you're sorted lol - But seriously, you can't fault the security guy for doing his job - All kinds of nutters trying things these days (think Green Peace aye?) ...
All that said - it was kinda funny... Broke up a very boring FP session - Gawd pls bring back V8/10/12 - Anything that make noise!!!

Yeah, and how is this a 'clash'?
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:37
What, that's all ?
I expected something more like this
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:50
Lol
This thread title is stretching the meaning of the word "clash" beyond breaking point. Poor old Lewis...
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:55
Lucky for that guy it wasnt KR or FA ... They'd have just shoved him out the way!
Posted 14 March 2014 - 21:57
... or you could say that this is what happens when you change your helmet colour.
Posted 14 March 2014 - 22:05
You call that a clash?

Come on now, this thread is a great excuse to post gifs of certain people being abused by cops... No underlying message behind that. Pure genius!

Well, I hope you get over it. And it was my reaction to this sensationalist bullshit story. I couldn't pass the turnstile at the local open air bath that easily.

You sir are a true F1 fan... ignoring the bullshit to focus on what is really important: bashing FOM!

TV pundits and others were saying the guy's a jobsworth etc etc. It is amusing to see Hamilton have to state he is a driver, but in reality the security guy's doing a good job. Why would a drive be coming through that entrance mid session? If he hasn't been brief via radio a driver is coming through then it could be any nutter dressed up trying to gain access to a restricted area with any kind of motivation.

All true!
The guy had luck it was Hamilton, if it was me I would push him away Kimi style, if it was Alonso or Schumacher they would hit him with the helmet, and Senna would punch his way throught!
Good as well for this forum, because if Hamilton really had somehow of a clash, servers would melt-down.

Pushing/punching marshalls or small children (Kimi), yes. But I don't think any driver would be foolish enough to push or manhandle a security guard.

Come on, the guy did not exactly have automatic rifles in hand. Im pretty sure some drivers(especially if stressed) would just run him over. Imagine what Montoya would be capable of doing
Posted 15 March 2014 - 20:07
Should carry passes at all time lads especially RG and PM tomorrow they will not last long.

lol Get that man a raise. Most caring security guard i've ever seen.
Posted 15 March 2014 - 20:47
He was just doing his job. He probably didn't stop him in the end because Lewis finally got close enough that the guard could see through the mask and recognize him.
Posted 15 March 2014 - 20:50
but surely we should have expected at least a head but from a H.A.M.
Then perhaps the OP may have a point with his title

Lol, guns aren't the worry. If a driver hit a security guard, they could be detained in paddock prison like mall prison. Imagine having to put up with someone like Paul Blart (Kevin James) for a few hours *shudders*.

I think OP is auditioning for the Daily Mail. Storm in a Fortnum and Mason's teacup, he's passed with flying colours!

You kindly Brits. In America, we don't consider something a "clash" until pistols are involved.
That's not something to be proud of to be honest.

Hamilton did not produce his pass and was still allowed through, though. So by your logic the security guy was not doing a good job, surely? Unless you think a nutter with nefarious intentions who has been able to somehow obtain a full set of this year's Mercedes F1 overalls, an exact replica of Lewis Hamilton's racing helmet etc, when asked for his pass, would say "I'm sorry I haven't got one, I'm a nutter intent on sabotaging FP1 in some way" rather than claiming to be the thing he's disguised as, namely a driver?
Personally if I was manning that gate I would have seen him coming and thought "oh look, it's the world famous and instantly recognisable Lewis Hamilton" and let him through straight away, but that's just me.
