Two watchable NASCAR California races in a row, never thought I'd see it.

The more I think about it, the more I like the last couple of 'laps'. Good race mates. God Luck and Good Speed to the dude / dudette who OPs the Paperclip thread.

Dibs on Kansas in early May.

Another great finish (I've not seen a bad/dull race yet). I'm really enjoying the Nascar races and think they are the perfect way to end the weekend.

Just want to say thanks for the great posts on here which encouraged me to start watching :)

Same here. I'm guessing with the crowd and the race they saw today, a lot of this crowd will be at Long Beach in a couple of weeks. I'll predict a huge crowd there this year.

F**king A, mate. Just remember this. You are forever tainted, thus, watching the accursed round-dwellers go round and round every day of the sun. Forfeit your soul with us damnable lot.

Next week: Martinsville, Sepang, St. Pete and the BTCCs. Get the gin. Rejoice, for the motorsport weekends have truly started.

I've generally hated Fontana races because they have usually been historically boring to the point where I wish they would have done away with the track entirely. But that's changed over the last two or three years. The surface has aged in a way that actually makes things interesting and it suits the gen 6 cars very well (NW cars too). Even without the tire issues, which was likely a camber issue for that specific track, we still would have had a compelling race. Great finish at the end. Loved seeing Larson just drive in carefree. He'll either make it stick or wreck the 10 cars around him in the process.

I would be pissed if I was Jeff Gordon. Leading with two laps to go and the caution comes out.  Ends up 13th. wtf

Just guessing here, but Hendricks ran on the edge all day, it bit Johnson and Earnhardt with tire issues, and I'd imagine Jeff's skins were worn to a nubbin too, or he would not have pitted and then tried to get three more laps in.

Tire set ups there were borderline, across the field, and it cost some guys bunches there.

Nice to see Stewarts team get some results. I have not seen an impressive Toyota run yet, TBH

Gordon has remarkably uncanny bad luck in late race situations in recent years. Some of it seems to be often not being great at short runs/restarts, but other many other times the one thing that could go wrong inevitably seems to. I thought he drove the last stint well, pushing Johnson and then backing off in the lead. The race was reminicent of the Charlotte debacle several years ago when the tire failures were so predictable you could plan strategy around the cautions, fortunately not right fronts at these speeds (and fortunate today that there wasn't a major accident out of this). Good race cars, unlike the early COTs, can produce good racing even on the traditionally boring tracks. Can you imagine if there's a tire scenario like this at Homestead that decides the championship?

Gotta feel for Gordon. His long run pace was impressive and he stormed through the field. But that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Yeah you'dve felt a lot worse if they'd yellow'd it for Bowyers spin but for JJ? Not quite 'the fix is in' territory haha

As mentioned above, two great races this weekend, really enjoyed em both and Marts'll be brilliant as per if the rain stays away

Do you know how much her cholesterol went up just from that?

On the plus side, I suppose burger and fry grease might act as some sort of skin moisturizer.

In wake of Deluxx finally releasing us from the nightmare that was his avatar, should I/do I change my avatar now?

You know, with the photo small, it could be captioned: "Kyle Busch given electric chair for further contact with Dale Jr., marks new severe penalties in NASCAR."

NSC would like to apologise for it's spotty service this weekend.

Seems someone left out a cache of automatic weapons and barrels of fuel in plain sight out on their front lawn.

Does it help the process if I leave the amount box blank on my check?

With regard to Mr DeeLuxx avatar.

Although the 'Hornisch to the Back' is entertaining I would like to propose a continuation of the Busch theme.

My 2 picks are...

Coy and twitchy

Or 'just cut to the chase'

I vote option B. Samantha's got more charisma in the left implant than Kyle's had in his whole ****ing life.

Good race. All the comedians aside, Nascar isn't half bad this year so far. Fontana is a good track with the different lines being run, made for some good passes.
