As motor sport becomes more and more driven by results alone, the question of how much pressure is being put on up-and-coming drivers arises and how effective this is. Of course, a certain amount of pressure can often help certain people but the pressures of getting results in Formula 1 is so massive that there is now a danger of F1 teams not getting the best out of their young drivers because of this. Along with this, is there any way that drivers can be taught how they can cope with this sort of pressure or is it just natural talent, abilities and endurance?

Interesting question! The pressure, imo, is no more or less than any other generation of drivers have faced.  The young drivers who have the mental strength to cope and deal with the pressure and expectations will always rise to the top - like cream.

I don't think mental strength can be taught, like charisma and other intangible qualities, but it can be controlled with sports psychologists/psychiatrists (which ever one it is).

Think this is more or less the same as this thread.
