Gutted for Larson.
Disappointed in Stewart too, I thought he had a decent car for a while but faded way too fast

Ah ah! JJ still outside the grill. This will be twice as sweet for KuBu.
So.... the 2 Busch sardines are in... who will be next.

Awesome . Wasn't expecting that, glad I kept this on when the Indy race started.
#126
Posted 30 March 2014 - 21:10
Great race. The weather really made tire management a factor which added in an extra bit of drama for a track that doesn't need any extra help. Kurt drove like hell to catch and get around JJ. Great show.
Now we get Trucks for dessert! Not only will they be racing each other, but likely racing darkness. There's probably 2hrs of daylight left.

This probably the best start to the NASCAR season that I can recall. Only Phoenix was a bit of a bore.

Wait, people had to choose Indycar or NASCAR - two monitors fool...
Having been up since the F1 and non-stop racing for 14 odd hours, catching up with my work while watching the trucks. A pretty decent day, although all the races were more on the quiet sides with the odd hint of drama.

Agreed, no complaints about the racing so far.....we'll see what Texas does for that I think it's safe to say no one could have seen Biffle, Allmendinger, and Ambrose blowing through the Hendrick/Gibbs usuals at the front.
Kept waiting for BK to come up in the lapped cars during the last 20 laps....that would have added considerably to the entertainment potential. Can't remember a good replay view of the pit incident,. but seemed it was an overreaction unless they had something carrying over.

So, did anyone actually think Kurt did anything wrong during that pit-stop?
Looked like Kes just got himself boxed in, then decided he'd change lane and went straight into Kurt who was simply driving around the pitting car. It was hardly the 'kurt just drove through us' that Brad made it out to be, and then ended up being an idiot persistently for about 20 laps cos of his own stupidity.
I'll never quite understand how Nascar dont grow a pair and tell them to stop acting like kids in a playground. Its hardly professional and its going to get people seriously injured. Like Logano being stroppy little tart last year when Denny flew round the outside of him at Fontana with the chequred flag in sight, wrecked each other and broke/fractured Denny's spine and kept him out for a chunk of the season and effectively cost him a season with recovery. Its bloody idiotic.

I didn't see anything wrong. Martinsville's pit road is one of the tightest on the circuit. There's usually an incident or two there every race and this was no different.

To be fair to BK, he's not striking me as one who does those kind of things based on just 1 event, particularly after the Edwards situations he's always seemed to be pretty high on driving standards, he was mighty pissed when Gordon took out Bowyer at Phoenix in 12 - and not just cos it nearly took him out and could have cost him the title.
I would lay odds it's more a case of KuBu racing hard all the time, pinching space and not playing the long game and BK has decided it's time to mark the card.
However, based solely on what I saw - doing it because of the pit incident makes him look a twat. That was just bad luck imo.
Still as both are almost nailed on now for the chase, I guess we could have 20 more races with tit-for-tat bumping & banging.
