My web browser (Firefox) keeps crashing each time when I try to watch a youtube video directly on this forum. The problem doesn't appear on other forums. I'm not sure what's going on.

Does the same on IE9. Avoid at all costs!

Odd.  It doesn't happen to me on Firefox 27.0.1 on Win 7, or at home on the Mac (not sure what version of FF, but it'll be whatever is the current release).

Nor here on Fx 28 W7. I have seen people reporting various problems with embedded videos on other forums though.

With Firefox, the first thing to check is whether your Firefox and Flash are both up to date. If so, check whether you get the same behaviour in Firefox Safe Mode: Help > Restart with add-ons disabled (Don't check any of the options in the window which appears on your desktop). If the videos now work okay, then it may be a conflict with one of your extensions. Also check your setting for third party cookies.

You could also try changing your default YouTube player to HTML5 instead of Flash, which I find works well:

https://www.youtube.com/html5

That may also work for anyone who has the same problem on other browsers.
