I am about to publish a page on the McLaren M3A and I'm trying to find a good photograph of Patsy Burt's car either at Donington or at the Festival of Speed in 2010.  Can anyone help?

As I'm amongst friends here on TNF, here is a sneak preview of the (unfinished) page:

Any additional information would be most welcome of course.  For example, has Julia de Baldanza's ex-Patsy Burt car been seen in the last few years?

Strictly speaking, "raced at Goodwood" should be 'demonstrated' or 'hillclimbed' depending on whether she was going for a time. ;-)

I have some pre-digital photos from the early FoS or Coys events, some with Patsy Burt in the shot, if you like I'll scan them tonight.

The MGM car only 'started' one GP race in 1966, but spent a lot of time on track in various colour schemes - I have some photos but they're not my copyright...

I'll email you a photo of Patsy in the car at Shelsley Walsh.

Thanks guys

You are quite right Paul: "raced by" is incorrect.  I used to rely on David to pick up those details :-(

Allen, I have sent two emails, one with a batch of photos of the car in 2007 and the one of Patsy from 1988. Hope they are of some use.

The speed records were set at Elvington airfield, Yorkshire, in 1967, 1968.

(The BRDC had a picture on their website at one time, and presumably have it in their collection.)

Patsy Burt competed at Firle and Gurston Down in the McLaren. Not sure about Brunton but worth checking.

Thanks everyone.  That page can now be published.

All that's outstanding is a picture of Harry Zweifel's car.  Anyone have any suggestions where I might be able to source one?

IIRC some have been posted on TNF, including one with Jo Siffert driving.

Allen ,are you still looking for a Harry Zweifel McLaren Olds photo??

In the biography : Harry Zweifel, die schnellsten Jahre meines Lebens, by Bernhard Brägger, is on page 57 a b/w shot. showing him in  the McL-Olds at a Swiss hillclimb...

(I'm sorry --no scanner)

I thought I'd replied to Macca but my reply is missing.

Yes, Paul, there are images on here and on Autodiva but they are scanned from l'Automobile or from a book.  I will only use an image if I have the permission of the copyright holder and I don't even know how to contact the photographers in those two cases.

I will email Bernhard Brägger and see if he can help me.

That would be great.  It needs to be a picture that I have permission to use of course.

It's been a few years since we discussed this topic, but some of you may be interested to know that the first M3A has resurfaced in France, having been in the same hands since 1972:
