According to AMuS the whole rumbling of Ecclestone about how bad F1 is in 2014 is just a prelude to bigger things: http://www.auto-moto...er-8292550.html
Ecclestone, Montezemolo and Horner want to split off F1 from the FIA and rename it into GP1, as the FIA holds the name rights. They will be buying shares from CVC according to Michael Schmid. Apart from that, Bernie has contracts with many race organizers, while the FIA holds the contracts with the tracks, which will bring some conflict. The whole bad-mouthing that Bernie does about F1 is just part of the strategy....to bring down the value of the shares, it will force CVC to sell.
Ecclestone, Red Bull and Ferrari want to "bring back the pure racing" into F1/GP1.
Makes sense if you think how illogical it would be otherwise for Ecclestone to continually badmouth F1 - apparently his "own product".....The meeting of Montezemolo, Todt and Ecclestone this weekend was surely an interesting one - and no wonder, Montezemolo flew already to London on Thursday to meet Bernie in preparation.
