I love the battle for the points behind the Mercedes cars.  Having at least four teams in a good fight for position is entertaining, especially when the cameras pay attention like they did last week.

I also enjoy no team orders at Mercedes.  It may change if things get closer with outside competitors later in the season, but letting the racing drivers actually race is why I tune in.

Some more positivity. We hear a lot about teams who can't find sponsors right now, so if this happens, surely it'd only be good news for the sport as a whole.

Some things that are giving me positive feelings:

1. New rules means a shake-up of the grid, so this year won't be a repeat of last year.

2. More noises to listen to. Hearing the turbo, the tyres, etc.

3. Some good racing. I wouldn't want to try to predict the final positions, Mercedes aside.

4. The new systems may not be as reliable as the mature systems of previous years, meaning even Mercedes may lose through too many failures.

5. Mercedes allowing their drivers to fight each other for the win.

6. The Mercedes drivers managing to fight for position without punting each other off.

7. Williams look to be on the up.

8. Maldonado doesn't.

9. Nor does Bernie, about whom we can now safely say it is "impossible to regard him as a reliable or truthful witness".

10. People saying they are no longer going to attend races, thus leading to reduced ticket prices as promoters try to lure new customers.

11. The possibility of venues with noise restrictions that prevented F1 cars running in the past now being able to host F1.

Honestly speaking, besides the double points at the end of the season, I love everything about this year's F1.

- The onus is back on the drivers

- The development race is a REAL development race. All the teams have varying interpretations of the new rules, and that makes a lot of teams stand out

- A clean slate means a lot of teams have an equal chance (Of course, barring Mercedes, and their clearly better interpretation of the rules)

- The sound is organic once again, and there is a lot more complexity to what you can hear, instead of a wall of noise (which I admittedly loved as well)

- Maldonado aside, the overall quality of drivers is very high this year

The only thing lacking is Eddie Jordan and BBC live coverage of every race :)
