The forum members may be interested to know that the Collier collection (now REVS Institute, I believe...DCN can clarify) jn Naples, Florida, is now open to the public.

Some additional information is here:

This is one of the most incredible collections I have seen, beautifully presented and in a stunning facility.  If you come to Florida (please do!), skip Disney World....see this instead!

Yep,   one of my best friends has a house about 10 miles north-  he just visited last week, it is just north of the Naples airport.  I've wanted to get in that place for the last 20 years but never was there when the Porsche club had a private tour...

3 days a week- have to buy tickets ahead of time-  Revs Institute has a webpage with all the info.

I visited with my parents back in 1990. I could absolutely understand their insurance issues. The value of the collection must be in the mid-nine digits (in US dollars).

Delighted to read it is open again to the public!

Fabulous. I'll be in Florida late August early September so will hopefully organise a visit.

I've just noticed photography is permitted (without flash). I heard it wasn't allowed in the past so this is a bonus.

Edit: How disappointing - it seems it's closed during August and September  ):
