Great race.

Lewis was impeccable.

Alonso fantastic.

Daniel outstanding.

Kvyat impresses again.

Agree with the above assessment and ........... Maldo didn't hit anyone, or anything. Nor did he force anyone into avoiding action. Driver of the day, I'd say!!!

One long boring mercedes commercial. But sad and miserable people will watch anything without protest. Their life is empty, and without meaning.

Almost as empty and meaningless as the lives of those who criticize the entertainment choices of strangers.

That was one of the most boring F1 races that I have watched.  Merc has no peer on the track and within the team there is no competition.  Boring.

The only point of interest is that Ferrari/Alonso seemed to have found something since the last race.  Hopefully they can build on this and become a challenger of some sort to Merc.

Not that I'm not grateful for people trying to help me, but for the sake of the truth, it seems the checkered flag was waved at the end of lap 55 after all:

http://www.telegraph...-lap-early.html

The chequered flag was waved a lap early, so Kamui Kobayashi’s final-lap pass on Jules Bianchi did not count. Lewis Hamilton was shown the flag on lap 55, but rule 43.2 of the regulations stipulates that the result is taken from the lap before.

Who knew Sky could give us the radio clips so soon?!  :stoned:

I'd agree with everything apart from it being a great race. It clearly wasn't IMO, not by a long shot.

Just imagine if that had happened at Canada in 2011

The radio clips come via the World FOM feed.

And if I recall correctly, the Sky guys thought Lewis was saying he did NOT see the chequered flag... and suggested Lewis had made a mistake thinking the race should have ended at that time.

That would be classic.

You would feel sorry for Ricciardo though.

Let me guess, one long 4 year long Red Bull commercial was so much better, m I right?

Lovely picture of arguably the two best drivers in F1

Indeed.  Hamilton and Alonso will drive for Mercedes next year then.  You heard it first from me!

but they rarely showed us vettel, we mostly got to watch poor old webbo trundling in the midpack after his usual poor starts.

this time though, for the first 4 races, we got to see an aweful lot of merc cars.

That is not such a bad thing if you break down the past 2 races

Bahrain - Lewis vs Nico had a fierce scrap

China - Nico had to fight through the field, in fact, I barely saw Lewis throughout the race.

Agreed. Two RBR vs one Ferrari in the opening stint and RBR managed to mess it up.

The race for the last podium position was done when FA peeled off for his first stop. One RBR should have gone as a sacrificial lamb before Alonso - who cares which one. Compromise Alonso's middle stint and optimise the other RBR car. They were never going to go lower than 5th.

If an Aussie ever leads the Aus GP (maybe due to pit stops etc) I'm waiting one lap and then storming the keep and waving the flag. What an absurdly ridiculous rule.

One of the most boring races in recent times. I've always figured that Bahrain race entertaining because of the safety car. Other than that, the so called new era of F1 is still the same. Stale, boring, and crappy sounds.

I think they should go back to basic, bring back refuelling, and stop going green thing. I can't believe how handicapped Rosberg was due to his telemetry failure. Gone were the days that drivers just got in and drove the wheels off the car. Now it's about the tires, fuel, and whatnot crap.

Shame on Vettel for fast becoming F1's next villain. When the team gets on the radio and asks you to move over, you friggin move over. No questions about tyres, strategies, etc. The team on the pitwall knows more that the drivers racing out there.

Barcelona is the next race. On a track that's difficult to overtake again. Expect another snorefest guys.

It was over from the first turn....

At least Bahrain had some very good overtaking and passing.

China was interesting in the sense that there were some really really good fights among the front runners - nico, alonso, vettel, dan. Unless of course if it is considered that no fight is ever as interesting as one that involves Lewis which seems to be the case when comparing Bahrain and China.

Missed the QP and race as down "on the farm, oo argh" in Somerset so watched it last night.

Very impressed with both the qualifying and race performance of Hamilton, totally dominant.

Surprised Seb is slow, The new car does not seem to suit his style, it will be interesting how he meets this challenge.

The race to me was dreadfully boring.

Really nice to see atleast Alonso doing well, hoping that the team in whole takes it to Mercedes.

There seemed to be something really weird with Kimis car, atleast from the onboards i seen.

Maybe something with the electronics?

Or then just im seeing things and things just didnt happen to fall in place and such.

Either way, i hope spanish gp will be exciting, 3/4 races sofar have been extremely boring.

Imagine if Ricciardo had passed Alonso on the final lap . . .

A scenario which would not have been unprecedented, as the checkered flag was displayed one lap early at the 1985 British GP. Jacques Laffite took the flag while running third, and his Ligier conked-out before completing another lap. The driver running behind him, Nelson Piquet, was thus denied the third step on the podium.

13:40 is just as impressive how he pulls away

It is impressive but helped by china's long straights

This is not regular Canal+ coverage... I guess just an addition for the website, but pretty cool I agree. The live coverage, they have Jacques Villeneuve commenting, and apparently he spends his time dissing drivers.  Sky is great IMO!
