Yes.

And to be fair to him, he has actually come out and said that.

My overall point is simple, he should have kept his mouth shut about his distate for the borefest that was Redbull's dominance because now suddenly Mercedes are the ones putting people to sleep.

Well, not 100 percent the same, because Mercedes lets its drivers fight on track. It gave us an amazing race two weeks ago.

Yet it's not Lewis' fault that Nico wasn't good enough in Malaysia and China... is it?

Similarly it was never Sebs fault that Webber (and the other teams) were never good enough.

I think it would have been best not to take the media bait and simply say "Well, they (RB) are doing a great job so they deserve to be where they are" and leave it at that.

Where in the OP is that position stated? It's very clearly a reminder that Lewis was rather condescending about the nature of Sebs wins, and now finds himself in the same position.

I thought Lewis was full of it when he made those comments, and rather ungracious. His fans here lapped it up of course.

I think Lewis is driving superbly and reaping the rewards. His driving makes me a fan of his driving, but his mouth makes me find him quite annoying. Nothing wrong with highlighting a bit of hypocrisy.

'yawn' this is getting boring as hell.!! Anyway, I think you have made the right choice. Go be someone else's fan. He has enough.

Where is the hypocrisy? Has it been disproven that Hamilton would gain more satisfaction finishing 30s up the road than fighting all the way to victory? No. Ask any of the drivers on the grid about their favourite victories and few would choose a race where they have cruised to victory. I suspect there are different forms of satistfaction involved. All this topic is is a rehash of a statement Hamilton made, brought up as some sort of stick to beat him with as a form of therapy because he just won an easy race. Any angle to find to stick the boot in, quite poor behaviour really, as is your creeping blanket statements about 'fans'. Clearly other folks have 'lapped up' that statement too, eh? So basically he should go slower, otherwise he's a hypocrit. I await the next topic based on that- "Nico Rosberg the hypocrit- he said he'd win in China but didn't". Nah? Of course not, because that would be as ridiculous as this topic.

This is why trolls exist. Think of it this way. No food, no trolls. Stop feeding them !!

So now Lewis should see into the future and make his comments appropriately? Boss time travel has not been invented yet.

No, but it was Red Bull's fault that Webber never had a functional Kers on his car (among other issues that never hit Vettel), that they sometimes gave his chassis to Vettel when he had broken his own, that he got the evolutions first, or that they used team orders.

Vettel was winning like that for 4 years, it's only Lewis's 4th race with a car that great.

Lewis is definitey a top driver and if someone like Vettel has 4 WDCs in his career, then no one could begrudge Lewis at least a second WDC. And I say that as an Alonso fan. And yeah, of course he's not complaining about easy wins now that he's the one with the rocketship under him. You can hardly blame him.

It is a shame, thought, that the drivers almost never have anything approaching equal equipment. In fact the whole idea of a WDC is a bit of a joke, year after year best car wins, end of story, the ony relevant competition is the interteam battle.

Remember Lewis' comments last year about Vettels easy wins. I wonder if he still feels the same now?

He doesn't want this - does not say he won't accept it if it happens?

His comments still stand true as far as I'm concerned. I bet he enjoyed his win in Bahrain more than those in Malaysia and China. Non-story.

So, now he is dissappointed by having the best car?

Hard to believe.

This is shaping up to be a worse situation for Lewis than the aftermath of the 2009 Australian GP. The media is going to skewer Lewis over this.

Not sure if serious...
Webber spanked rosberg at williams.

Lewis has found himself in a very similar situation to vettel last year: dominant car and easy beat team mate, which was the point of this thread btw.

Its refreshing to watch a man celebrate in dominant style rather than a screaming child who shoved his finger in the camera every opportunity he got.

This isn't the same Nico Rosberg as the Nico Rosberg of his rookie season. It was almost certainly a much better Mark Webber then too, by the way.

He loves the thrill of the fight, don't see the big deal tbh. It's not like he's going to deliberately back off to give himself a better challenge.

"Hamilton wrong to leave McLaren - Button"

He probably regrets leaving Brackley now! He's won quite a lot of races with McLaren but he would have had his best chance at winning a 2nd title if he was sitting in that Merc instead of Lewis.

I'm not necessarily talking about Lewis Hamiltons hypocrisy.

Trust me, there's a lot of it about.

I'm sure he's losing no sleep at all about his former comments, or the nature of his race wins. Why should he?

But I find it annoying when such comments, which I found somewhat classless at the time, are feted on here then somehow no longer apply.

Erm, surely everyone knew the comment were to disrupt Vettel and not to be taken at face value. Hamilton and Alonso have both been having digs at Vettel for a few years, now. It goes with the territory. Hamilton will have to suffer the same if his success continues. I just find it hard to accept that people actually thought he meant what he said.

Well, the bad thing about having a car this dominant is that people will question your real ability, a-la Button 2009. Luckily for LH, unlike JB, he has 2007 as his backup, but yeah, as some people in this thread are saying, it would have been better (and more modest) of him, if he had just said nothing about Vettel and the Red Bull last year. In any case, I'm pretty sure he'll get the same treatment soon from the likes of FA and SV if things continue like this...

Not only that, I remember he said that the fans were bored last year.

Wonder if he thought the fans were bored today?

Ninety percent of the fans are bored stiff.  Interest in this season will end very soon unless a challenger can be found.

You have to be somewhat in denial to not to realise Lewis was diminishing Vettels victories ....

webbo played the victim card too often. now that he's not racing, if you take a long look at the past seasons, it becomes clear. also the sympathy of Anglo fans was an effective weapon that he used far too many times, specially with the journos.

that said, good luck to him in WEC. he'll be forgotten soon enough.

sorry for the OT.

We called this last year when he said it.

"Wait till you are winning Lewis and then talk that talk, or better yet, slow down and force a fight for your win."

But of course we knew he wouldn't.

It was just mouthing off on his part - entirely forgivable.  4 years of intense pain watching Vettel take nearly all of the spoils was enough to make any driver a bit bitter.  Lots of drivers were making similarly inane comments that they didn't mean.

Keep the gifs coming guys!Loving them!

On topic,I like Lewis especially this year and he and his fans should savor te current success, just like Red bull fans did the last four years and not apologize for it.As someone said,it takes two to tango and if the other party has substandard machinery, what can he do?he wont slow down.

I think his comments last year were more out of jealousy of Vettel and how he was winning "easily".Now that he has it do you think he will care what the rest of the guys think?Hamilton, like all drivers are selfish people who winning comes first, how you do it doesnt matter.

On a side not though i would love for a journalist to bring it up purely to hear what he has to say.

To be fair after qualifying in China he hoped the RBR would be closer so that they could have a battle.

This just says to me that he prefers wins where he fights for it rather than cruising to victory.

Not that he wouldn't take the next 10 wins in the same way if he could I think its more of a rather fight for it win, but he'll take the win any day any way he can in the end.
