What race?
Best Driver: Fernando Alonso, Ric and Hulk all seem to have extracted the max from their cars
Worst Driver: Vettel and Rosberg
Best Team: Mercedes, still utterly dominant.
Best Overtake: ..... none
Best Moment: RBR team radio
DRS + Tyres: as last year
And the race in a sentence: boring
It seems like even the team behind Merc are slowly developing their own speed and fights between those teams are becoming rare - not a good sign for the season
Final score: 3/10 and this is 3 points because Lewis won

IF Mercedes wouldn't be faster than rest of the grid by 2sec it would be way more nice to watch. When I saw that Hamilton used least fuel and still was getting more advantage over the rest I was like: It is all over. We can wrap it up and wait for 2015 cause there is no way that someone can beat Lewis.
At least 2nd team fight Ferrari vs RBR will be a bit decent

Despite all that was said at the time, Bahrain was an abberation caused by a late safety car.
I feel this race was still a true reflection of how things are for the near future.

How the hell are people giving this a 7 or higher rofl.
Anyways, 3 for me, it had pretty much nothing?

I was in the camp that felt Bahrain was slightly spoiled by the safety car.
Not every race can be a classic, but today we saw some good stuff if you can look beyond the No.44 Mercedes.

The paint drying on the outside of T11?
The Red Bull battle plus Alonso.
Frankly the only thing sucking the fun out of F1 this year is this forum.

Exactly. I feel sorry for anyone who got carried away with all the this is what F1 in 2014 is going to be like hype after Bahrain. The reality is most races are going to be like Malaysia and today's race.

Let's keep the tradition going, rather than just posting a number.
I rated it 5/10 - nothing too special, but with some nice moments.
Best Driver: Fernando Alonso, great race with a slightly different strategy puts him on the podium in front of the Red Bulls.
Worst Driver: Hard to say, Massa was optimistic - to say the least - at the start, and was quick to whine about it, which never looks good, but overall nobody really stood out.
Best Team: Mercedes, still utterly dominant.
Best Overtake: Kimi Räikkönen going around the outside in turn 6 was nice, I suppose.
Best Moment: The little scrap between Ricciardo and Vettel, with added discussion over the radio, was amusing - especially considering how it ended with that rather dull move into Turn 1.
DRS + Tyres: The long straight was littered with broken Pirelli rubber, and the DRS made passing cars a breeze. Same old, unfortunately.
And the race in a sentence: Pretty ordinary F1 race, with a slight variation in strategies to keep things interesting - but rather dull in terms of excitement.
I look forward to hearing the thoughts of those who ignored the disruptive effects of the long safety car period and loudly pontificated that 'Bahrain Stunner Proves F1 Critics Wrong'. I suspect that'll make for interesting reading.

Best Driver: ALO
Worst Driver: MAS
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: ROS on VET
Best Moment: Vettel's 'tough luck' team radio
DRS + Tyres: Joke
And the race in a sentence: F12014 continues to be boring for the most part despite (outrageous) claims of some based on the last race.

For a fan, it was average, or even below average.

Best Driver: alonso with nods to ricc and lewis
Worst Driver: kimi 1 minute behind team mate
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: couldn't remember 1 that wasn't drs assisted ,not a patch on bahrain
Best Moment: team radio red bull
DRS + Tyres: same as last 3 seasons
And the race in a sentence
easy win for lewis ,great drive from alonso and daniel

Best Driver: Fernando Alonso
Worst Driver: Vettel (I'm his biggest fan but WTF just happened Seb)
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake:
Best Moment: Seb vs Kobayashi
DRS + Tyres: ...
And the race in a sentence: Soothing I suppose. I was able to use it as background noise while I did some chores around the house.

Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton
Worst Driver: Vettel, he got put in the shade by RIC
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: RIC on Vettel
Best Moment: Vettel on the radio
DRS + Tyres: ...
And the race in a sentence: So hard to take my support of Lewis out of this. If it was someone other than Lewis doing what he did, I would probably rate it a 3. Since I cannot separate Lewis from my enjoyment of the race, I put it as a 6.

There have been lots of good-to-great races that weren't the result of a safety car or weather the past few years.Which was the last race you would rate 7 or higher without SC or weather changes?
This one is just instantly forgettable. Ferrari on the podium makes me happier coming away after watching, but objectively, it couldn't be better than a 5. I think it earned a few points for it being a clean race, with everybody driving respectfully, and that there was at least some interesting aspects such as the Red Bull drama/battle and then Ricciardo closing down on the podium spot at the end.

It is ok, we dont have to discuss it and this is probably not the thread for it either. However, over the last few years, the word snooze-fest is synonymous with dry races with no SC, almost always. And I am not talking about you, I am talking about how the rest of the world sees it. Was today a snooze fest? Of course it was. But I am loving it and want this year to be full of snooze fests. And you already know why.
My argument is that we have a qualifying system where we line up the cars in order of fastest to slowest and then somehow expect the races to turn on their heads. That is not gonna happen unless you throw in the weather or SC into the mix.

I wondered if Bahrain was a flash in the pan. Looks like I was right. There would have been hardly any overtaking without the Dreary Racing System (DRS).

Not the most exciting race ever that's for sure, thought there was going to be a few good midfield battles towards the end but the never really materialized.
5/10
Best Driver: Honorable mention for Alonso but Ricciardo edges it for me, completely out performing Vettel like that hugely impressive.
Worst Driver: No real stand outs so it has to go to the chequered flag man/lady.
Best Team: Mercedes would be the obvious answer but i'll say FiF1, two cars in the points again & 3rd in the WCC.
Best Overtake: Genuinely can't recall any that weren't completely straight forward.
Best Moment: Koba unlapping himself did make me chuckle.
DRS + Tyres: Meh.
And the race in a sentence: H.A.M - Hardly Amazing, Mediocre.

Good point. I'd forgotten somewhat about Vettel in trying to figure out if Ricciardo could close the gap to Alonso. Ricciardo is really impressing me so far.

Best Driver: Alonso was phenomenal all weekend. His podium was just desserts, as I don't think that's where that car is supposed to be finishing.
Worst Driver: Difficult to say. Vettel and Raikkonen really struggled. Perez I believe was also never near his teammate, and Rosberg should have done better than he did. The fact that he still finished second is testament to the amazing job Mercedes have done this year.
Best Team: Nobody's beaten a Mercedes on track all season.
Best Overtake: Again, difficult, I don't remember one standing out. Kobayashi on Vettel
Best Moment: 'Tough luck' on the team radio made me chuckle.
DRS + Tyres: Surprising. I thought both were good, but surprising. We saw Hamilton's tyres lasting forever and Vettel's falling apart, which is unusual
And the race in a sentence: To be honest, a bit of a stinker. Although still not as bad as many on the forum would have you believe. 4/10.
