Serg Deluca Anglia
The Sports Sedans were a very mixed bag. Running as a Supersprint to get some extra numbers and an eclectic mix of proper period cars and quite a few ring ins to make up the numbers.
Serge in what was brother Louies Anglia. Serge has been around motorsport for about 50 years!
Nathan Mills in the ex Monterosso Escort now with 2 litre Nissan Turbo power which did 10s, speaking to Mick Monterosso Friday he reckons it will do 8s again with the Nissan
Tracey and Bruce Coombe in the late 80s! RX7s which really did not fit in. Though Bruce raced Sports Sedans back in the 70s! Tracey has been around 20 years too in mostly Club Cars.
Myself in the ex Chris Brown 2E Torana, a car that I actually sponsored in the late 80s and 90s and raced as a Sports Sedan a couple of times, and as a Club Car too. I raced Sports Sedans from 81 until 2000.
The RX3 I dont know but it ran out of brakes after the first event.
Simon [PPG] Pfitzner in the ex Barry Bray/ Bill Emeny Stanza Coupe, crewed by Barry Bray who is restoring his older A30 with Fairlady power, as it was in the 70s. Simon was quicker in the Stanza than he was in his stroker Supercar powered Falcon Sports Sedan yesterday at the Shannons meet.
And Graham Boulter in the ex Farrisey/ Peter Rule FJ. A car that has been around a very long time! As has Graham who raced FJs in period,, actually against that car. Though it was grey powered then.
The Datsun 1000 is an Adelaide owner of an ex Victorian car. Not the well known Kieth Linnel car but another whose name I have forgotten. Alastair did tell me but age is setting in. It is a pretty little car.
The field was completed by the Garry and Ryan Brock Centura that was reasonably quick but shook off two balancer outer rings and the fan belt too.
As well as Jon Pillekers from Victoria in his Bluebird that broke a turbo in qualifying and Troy Ryan in the ex Ken Messenger Rover V8 Imp that broke the clutch in qualifying.
I believe Simon [as organiser] did have a couple more cars supposed to be coming. At a guess the dreaded cost probably precluded that unfortunatly.
