Latest DVD volume 29 is just out.

Some really quite extraordinary pre war colour film from  1938 on  the start of the Prescott hilclimb course  by the Bugatti owners club. - You even see the members laying the tarmac !

Fantastic picture quality with Alec Rivers Fletcher identifying every car and person. I have never seen this before  a real gem and  worth the price of the DVD for this item alone.

1932 MG Safety Fast  film of a tour of the Abingdon works- delightful extended version  B&W film

1960 Le Mans 24 hrs  in colour  by Standard Triumph company and Raymond  Baxter.

Description by seller with film  and pictures of all the Ecurie Ecosse cars sold recently by Bonhams.

Yet another really splendid 90 mins - how do they keep finding  and refurbishing all these  magnificent films .

Do keep going chaps. Much appreciated.

I've been getting withdrawal symptoms. Postie will be here about 2pm.

Maybe DCN will now have the time to finish "you know what".

I received the notification about the future intentions of MFQ, and duly went online to order my copy of Vol.29, my subscription having lapsed at issue 28. Like all subscribers, I was offered a discount on the last 2 editions and duly entered the code as instructed, and proceeded to checkout. The full price showed , and I tried again. No joy - what the heck, thought I, to hell with poverty, throw the cat another goldfish. I accept my ineptitude with IT, and assumed it was my own fault, paid the requested amount and waited for the postman.

Quite literally 5 minutes later, the phone rang, twas Alex Hoyle himself, and he pointed out my error in extremely polite and helpful terms, advised me he would amend the cost and apply the discount, had a pleasant short chat, and left me realising that not all people in the world are rude and unhelpful. A few minutes after that, there were relevant e-mails on my laptop confirming the transactions.

Made me smile no end. Nice man. There is good old-fashioned service and courtesy left in the world. Only a fiver involved, but nontheless.......(AND he bothered to phone me personally and use a landline, when just a (cheaper) e-mail would have sufficed). Perhaps these barrow-boys at the PPI/double-glazing/extended warranty scam establishments could learn something. Rant over.
