Much NASCAR. So Aaron's 499. Very Talladega. Such draft. Wow.

Talladega... or should that be Talladoge?  :stoned:

Yes, ladies and gents, it's time for a little dose of plate racing. And that means packs. And that means The Big One is never far away.

Sprint Cup and Nationwide this weekend. Still no Trucks until next Friday. Also, Cup still on Fox as far as I'm aware, so there's also a 183% chance of multiple Waltrip incursions during the TV feed.

Weather forecast according to Google (at this moment) calls for 24 and 26 degrees Celsius (yes, I'm not using Fahrenheit, so shoot me) on Saturday and Sunday, with little chance of rain, so the race (and the allotted crashes) should therefore proceed on schedule.

I'm going to have to rely on your good selves to post the TV broadcast schedule, as I am about several thousand miles away and therefore haven't got the foggiest clue as to where to actually look for US broadcast schedules. For those in the UK, I guess... Premier Sports for Cup and Motors TV for Nwide? If not, Jp's Nigerian Streaming Club can always lend you a hand.

And you should have guessed by the title that there's only one real big story coming into this weekend: DOGECOIN!

And since this is a plate track, and there's always the chance of a Big One or something else upturning the applecart, there's always the odds of this car actually going TO THE MOON!... no, wait, to a good finish in the race.

Tally-ho, lads. Discuss.

You are correct, Premier will carry the Cup race at 17:30 (UK time) and Motors TV will carry the Nationwide race at  21:00 (CET?)

This is the best chance for a complete wild card like Regan last year to steal a Chase berth, so things will likely get interesting even by Dega's uniquely lofty standards.

It's still doable. Nascar, WEC, United Sportscar, BTCC, WTCC, MotoGP, first World Rallycross round with everyone's favorite Jacque... yes, yes and yes.

Oh, yes, DTM also. wow.

Comic Sans makes people rage so much.

Opposition

The Boston Phoenix reported on disgruntlement over the widespread use of the font, especially its incongruous use for writing on serious subjects, with the complaints focused around a campaign started by two Indianapolis graphic designers, Dave and Holly Combs, via their website "Ban Comic Sans".[9] The movement was conceived in 1999 by the two designers, after an employer insisted that one of them use Comic Sans in a children's museum exhibit,[3] and in early 2009, the movement was "stronger now than ever".[3] The web site's main argument is that a typeface should match the tone of its text, and that the irreverence of Comic Sans is often at odds with a serious message, such as a "do not enter" sign.[10]

In the 2005 session of the youth model parliament in Ontario, the New Democratic Party included the clause "Ban the font known as Comic Sans" in an omnibus ban bill.[11]

Comic book artist Dave Gibbons, whose work was one of the inspirations for the font, said that it was "a shame they couldn't have used just the original font, because [Comic Sans] is a real mess. I think it's a particularly ugly letter form."[12]

Film producer and New York Times essayist Errol Morris wrote in an August 2012 posting, "The conscious awareness of Comic Sans promotes — at least among some people — contempt and summary dismissal." With the help of a professor, he conducted an online experiment and found that Comic Sans, in comparison to five other fonts (Baskerville, Helvetica, Georgia, Trebuchet MS, and Computer Modern), makes readers slightly less likely to believe that a statement they are reading is true.[13]

This is what happens when we don't really have to fight actual wars anymore.

Ok I'm a bit behind in a private among friends tipping NASCAR top 10 race result game. I need to catch up, so help with me with the top 10, pole position and most led laps for this race please. Otherwise I will just keep putting Jimmie Johnson as a winner and lag behind until he actually wins.

Casey Mears, I don't get that. I remember when both Mears kids ran Indylights, it seemed to me like Clint was the better one.

But Casey got to drive that extra Rahal car(sponsored by Worldcom, oh the good ole days) at Fontana in 2000. And in 2001 he replaced Zanardi after his accident(the car was part sponsored by Worldcom).

Then he drives for Ganassi, Hendrick, and Childress in Cup. I mean jesus, with that career path you'd figure he was a 'name' driver.

My top 10 pick to get back in the private little game full of non-monetary rewards but huge personal honours. I now expect the final result to be anything but this:

Kevin Harvick

Brad Keselowski

Aric Almirola

Jeff Gordon

Jimmie Johnson

Joey Logano

Clint Bowyer

Kurt Busch

Kasey Kahne

Kyle Larson
