My most sincere sympathies to his family and friends. Top level motor sport and competitiveness can make men...and it can also break men... This is awful.

Suicide, then? My sympathies are with the poor HGV driver who hit him....

My first thoughts as well. Mustn't pre-judge the issue, but if that's the case, it's a pretty heartless thing to inflict on another human being, the memory would stay with you forever.

If it is the case, my sympathies are with the HGV driver, the emergency services who had to deal with the aftemath and the poor sods who endured a 8 hour road closure all because of one selfish act... All of which makes it all that worse for his widow and daughter.
