So, when do we expect the first photos? (I'm an impatient soul)

Well it's not a software upgrade, I'll give you that.
Maybe it's on floppy disks?

I can see this being a very 2 tiered race
Merc, Merc
followed by the Pair of Red Bulls, then the rest.

Wouldn't that be 3 tiers then? 4 if we include Caterham and Marussia at the back.

Yeah probably.
But i expect the Merc pair and Red Bull pair to be in their own league but not fighting between one another

Whimsical question - if today's presser features
Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), Max Chilton (Marussia), Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso), Kevin Magnussen (McLaren), Pastor Maldonado (Lotus), Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull)
Which of MC, DK, KM, and PM will be the last front row seat along side FA and SV?

I'd go for PM, based on the fact nobody will want him directly behind them.

TBH they are all in danger no matter where they are sitting...

Indeed. That is what is fascinating about F1.Never knowing how it all pans out is the exciting factor far as Im concerned!.....Roll on Barcelona! The Championship is mighty close. That alone is a good enough reason to tune in

...Not to mention those frankly disgusting images of so called Alonso fans poking fun at Hamilton during his debut season. Are you sure, have you seen the Horrible sound thread?

Would've been nice if Pirelli gave the teams a few extra sets of tyres for the FPs, with all the developments and what not. Won't happen, and even if it did, they'd still be limited on engines
Pretty sure that is not Pirelli's decision to make.

So is the pitlane going to be full with these things after the summer?
#168
Posted 08 May 2014 - 13:13
I hope so. Daleks probably make great pit crews.

Stupid question from stupid press. Some journalists should be banned from F1 press conference because they ask unbelievable stupid questions!

@ElDictatore - my guess is that those structures make it easier for the driver to see their "box".

ElDictatore Posted Today, 15:43 May I ask what that is?
I think it is just 'neat' housing for the cylindars that power the airguns. The black poles are what the lines run along to reach over to the other side of the car during the pit stops. sorry don't know the technical name for it.

Probably just something that Ferrari did to be noticed (although I am sure it has some purpose), as they haven't been doing so well recently. I also found it odd that both Alonso and Kimi happened to be at the Senna Tribute last week...again... something Ferrari are doing to get their drivers and Ferrari's name in the papers. Just my guess.

I cant see whats so special with that pit rig. It looks cool and futuristic. Mercedes has a similar set-up

This night I dreamt McLaren finally annouced a sponsorship deal... with Benetton and they immediately adopted the 1992 livery. In the meantime, Williams switched to orange and Rosberg rammed Massa out of the race. Button finished second to Hamilton.

Nothing like almost a month between races to ruin the momentum of the season.
But regardless, it's good to see F1 come back to Europe. It's usually a time for some significant upgrades to the cars, which adds some uncertainty to the whole circus.
I'm not sure there's much to suggest Mercedes won't simply dominate again, though. Meh.

I remember that after 2012, when Williams was great in S3 there, someone from Red Bull said that they should be unbeatable in Monaco, but it was not the case.
To be fair, they had Maldonado and Bruno Senna driving that car.

Over his racing career, Maldonado has been proven to be somewhat of a Monaco specialist...
