Robert Visoiu was finally having a good weekend, he should have won yesterday.
Good to see him competitive again after a dissapointing season so far.
Will he be considered by Forza Rossa as a Romanian?

He should win a race soon, 'cause his teammates won one each.

I think he is a bit too young and inexperienced still for a proper F1 seat. This coming from a fellow compatriot of his.

During an extremely processional sprint race in Hungary, Will Buxton suggested that the series should use the original-spec GP2 cars with detuned engines. It won't happen, of course, but it's strange how Dallara can't produce a chassis which can't race well at this level, whereas GP2 has never had such a problem.

I'm not sure dramatically reducing the power of a GP2 car will keep the good racing. It'd become a big F3 car.

I think so too, he is not ready at all for F1 imho but with much money from Romania, some even say that the goverment could also invest in the team, they might want a Romanian driver

Reverse grids is a stupid idea. So a driver would be happy to finish 8th in the first race to get pole for the second race and as long as he has a bit of pace he can win the race like Mardenborough did at Hockenheim. Similar thing at Hungary. Until he gets a solid result on merit Ie out right pole and win he is a mediocre driver.

What about drivers who win the 1st race and finish 1st or 2nd in the second (sprint) race? It becomes a challenge for the title chasing drivers to overtake cars in race 2 and maximise points so I don't think it's a stupid idea at all.

Visoiu just turned 18 this year. Compared to Carlos Sainz Jr (one of his teammates) in 2013, he made the most of his opportunities, with less racing experience. Sainz finished behind Visoiu in both of the races the latter won.

we'll see if Visoiu can continue the form he showed in Hungary because this season his performance dropped compared to last season when he was very quick.

Of all the things to forget you'd think waving the chequered flag wouldn't be one of them.

Did race control go home early today and leave cleaner to run the show?

Lynn was visibly distraught with Verstappen's quick promotion, but he did make a clear point, winning the sprint race with huge pressure from Stanaway.

Happy Stoneman won the feature race and I have to admit that Mardenborough is going way better than I thought he ever would for a first open-wheel season.

Mardenborough is really raising his game after some difficult races at the season start.
He's very talent ed, no doubts. His LMP2 night stint was amazing this year in Le Mans

it is not Eau Rouge but the Raidillon, Eau Rouge is gone a long time but still people keep calling it Eau Rouge.
That whole section is called 'the Raidillon'.

The small kink at the bottom is where the old Eau Rouge corner used to be, that kink could still be called Eau Rouge because that is where the original Eau Rouge corner was, but the whole section is the Raidillon.

The Eau Rouge corner (named after a small river that runs below it) dissapeared in 1939.

Eau Rouge sounds so much more romantic, though.

Well from what I've seen, most of the accidents start in Eau Rouge and finish in Radillon ;)

Marussia Manor Racing GP3, which competes in the GP3 Series and is part of the Marussia F1 Team Young Driver Programme, will not participate in this weekend’s round of the championship in Sochi, Russia. Regrettably, the team has been forced to withdraw from the event for commercial reasons.

From their link (because I wondered too):

"Marussia Manor Racing GP3 would like to make clear that its non-participation in the Sochi event is for purely commercial reasons and these have not been influenced in any way by events at last weekend’s Formula One race in Suzuka. The team’s GP3 freight deadline was last Thursday, 2 October."

Apparently they couldn't find my thread. Shame to see Stoneman out of action because the other Marussia drivers' money was funding his car as well.

He does have 3 wins already, but is 8th in points due to a lack of consistency.

I think Alex Lynn will win the 2nd race in Sochi.

He starts on the front row next to Patric Niederhauser.

SUPER final part of the race in GP3.
Amazing fight between Niederhauser, Stoneman & Kirchhofer

This track seems to allow really good racing, fingers crossed for F1

the final lap was stunning. Thumbs up for Niederhauser who has been a bit dissapointing this year but he made up for it in Sochi. I had higher expectations of Niederhauser at the time that he entered GP3, he had a good cv and was stunning in the now defunct F. Abarth Eurocup.

Alex Lynn just got named as the Champion, oddly enough in qualifying, because Stoneman failed to get pole. Congrats to Alex. He and Dean were the class of the field all year.

I'm very surprised that Campos take over Hilmer's place in GP3 next season. Especially as the press release can be read as Bruno said to Franz, Adrian want a GP3 team and Franz said, okay he could have mine. Because there is a nother place for free after Marussia Manor withdraw...
