I think kudos should be given to Pirelli. Last year's joke was not repeated, and in fact, the cars could follow each other extremely closely without ruining their tyres despite the inability to overtake. These tyres are good for racing.

Please rate the race objectively and not on your favourite drivers result - no

Best Driver - Lewis
Worst Driver - pastor
Best Team - red bull
Best Overtake - Alonso on Kimi
Best Moment - Lewis staying out an extra lap. That was the key to win.

DRS + Tyres - tires were all over the place

And the race in a sentence... Like a good lover, exciting at the end.

Best Driver: Hamilton, judged the race perfectly, had he not instinctly stayed out one more lap, he would've lost the race.

Worst Driver: Maldonado, for every single race while we have breath in our bodies.

Best Team: Mercedes, unstoppable.

Best Overtake: Alonso on Raikonnen.

Best Moment: Tense last ten laps.

DRS-Tyres: No real problems.

Race in a sentence: The Kraken has been unleashed!

Special Mention to: Grosjean, Vettel, Riccardo, Bottas.

7/10.

Battle between Lewis and Nico wasn't really that tense for me. Even ignoring that I didn't really care who won, I was reasonably sure Lewis had it anyways. It was somewhat interesting, but not dramatic or anything.
Rest of the race the same. Interesting, but not dramatic.

Don't know how people aren't picking Vettel as man of the day, though. That was a pretty spectacular drive with some great overtakes.

Best driver: Vettel

Worst driver: Maldonado

Best team: Mercedes

Best overtake: There were quite a few and it's hard to decide.

Best moment: Ricc moving into 3 place.

DRS + tyres: Did their job rather well.

Better than most Barcelona races in recent years.

5/10

Best Driver - VET
Worst Driver - MAL - his time should be up
Best Team - Lotus
Best Overtake - ALO on RAI
Best Moment - Nothing really stood out.
DRS + Tyres - Both still have too much influence.
And the race in a sentence...  - Better than some of the previous races this season but that's about it. Rosberg is never likely to beat Hamilton in normal circumstances, that is clear.

4/10, which is a good for rating Borecelona (fine, whatever, Circuit de Catalunyawn).

Best driver: Hamilton, who had the good instincts not to hear his team call him into the pits and was helped massively by this. Good drive from Vettel and Bottas too.

Worst driver: Crashtor. Come on man, get it together.

Best team: Mercedes.

Best overtake: Kvyat outside of Gutierrez in T3.

Best moment: Rosberg catching Hamilton was tense, but it's classic Spanish GP to say the best moment was when something didn't happen.

DRS + tyres: Whatever.

And the race in a sentence... to death.

Best Overtake - Vettel vs someone (Sauber I think?)

Best Driver - Top 6 all stellar
Worst Driver - Maldonado
Best Team - Red Bull
Best Overtake - Cannot justify some of the woeful defending against Vettel into T10, but the one around the outside was good.
Best Moment - Lewis swerving as he crossed the line
DRS + Tyres - DRS good, tyres a little conservative.
And the race in a sentence... Bahrain's little brother 7/10

Terrible race, incredibly boring from the front to the back, very few battles, Mercs making a mockery of the sport, dull race on a dull track.. Vettel was the only thing that kept me awake, good driving from him.

Tbh I'm watching the historic Monaco race now with the 70's cars and it's infinitely more entertaining than the F1 race was.

I recommend you watch some of the Barcelona races from the late 90s/early 00s then. I heard that someone managed to make an overtake in 1999!

Pretty much what i was about to write, including the Monaco Historique bit.

I must have been watching a different race to alot of the raters in here. To me it was just a noah's ark of teams driving to thier fuel numbers and occasioanlly getting excited and pressing a button to fly past the person infront.

Rosberg vs Hamilton is not interesting as there is no fight here. Hamilton has already broken Nico. It's over.

Rated it 4/10.

Very dull and forgettable, with only a handful of nice moments.

Best Driver: Vettel, might as well give him the nod today. Good recovery after his troubles on Saturday.
Worst Driver: Maldonado, surely at some point enough is enough.
Best Team: Mercedes, running circles around the so-called opposition.
Best Overtake: Kvyat not wasting any time around the outside in turn 3.
Best Moment: Where the commentator convinced himself that Rosberg had a chance when many other late-race 'battles' were anything but.
DRS + Tyres: Same old malarky, the DRS was especially silly today.
And the race in a sentence: Mercedes makes a mockery of the other teams, whose incompetence has reached shameful levels.

I'm not blaming Mercedes or anyone else (apart from the FIA), but this is getting to a point where it just isn't worth the two hours for me.

7.5/10

Best Driver - Vettel, seems to have finally woken up and stopped moaning and just got on with driving. Made some pretty bold overtakes to make his strategy work and was quick all race despite his limited running over the weekend.
Worst Driver - Maldanado, so many more deserving drivers of that seat
Best Team - RBR, 2 very different races for each driver but managed well and definitely best of the rest
Best Overtake - Kyvat around the outside of the Sauber at T3. But there were a surprising number of overtakes by Barcelona's standards
Best Moment - Perez finally getting past Hulkenberg after following him all race
DRS + Tyres - DRS was fair, it reduced the field spread a bit. Tyres were probably a bit conservative but did allow alternative strategies to work.
And the race in a sentence...Moderately exciting for the traditionally dullest race on the calendar.

First half 5.... Second half 9. So I'll give it a 7

Best Driver: Vettel. Did very well on a weekend where most stuff went wrong.
Worst Driver: Maldonado. The guy is a joke. Herbert said that Lotus need to put an arm around him. If I was the boss I'd be tempted to fill him in...... before I thought of the money.
Best Team: Mercedes.
Best Overtake: Vettel showed very good racecraft a number of times though T10.
Best Moment: When the chequered flag dropped for a hard fought Hamilton victory.
DRS + Tyres: Made for a more interesting race than normal at a pretty shite track for racing an F1 car around.
And the race in a sentence: You'd be feeling like a bit of a **** if you turned off at halfway.........

Best Team - Red Bull
Best Overtake - Vettel around the outside of one of the Saubers
DRS + Tyres - As normal
The race in a sentence. Dull until last 5 laps

5/10 Would of been 4/10 had the last 5 laps (which a watched after it was over) been like the rest of the GP.

So many votes on Maldonado being the worst, maybe I missed something, but what happened today that he gets so many votes? Is it about the contact with Ericsson? For me he drove a fair race.

Best Driver A few good performances. Lewis, Grosjean and Ricciardo all did very well but will give it to Vettel after an impressive drive after a difficult weekend.
Worst Driver Maldonado.
Best Team Mercedes always impressive but a few slow stops didn't help their lead driver so Red Bull for maximising what they could get with good stratagies for both drivers.
Best Overtake Vettel had some nice ones but was impressed with Perez on his team-mate.
Best Moment Kimi v Alonso
DRS + Tyres Seemed fine
And the race in a sentence... Good race - different strategies kept things tense in the middle of the race and led to some exciting laps at the end as they all came together I gave it a strong 7! (which is very good considering it was Barcelona)

Best Driver : Sebastien Vettel by far
Worst Driver : Pastor Maldonado

Well he was the only driver to get a penalty in the race... His car was capable of scoring points but he threw away a good qualifying position yesterday and no-one else did anything more stupid to claim the worst driver title off him.

7,5/10 Rewatched the race - it deserves at least a full 8!

Best Driver: Sebastian Vettel
Worst Driver: Pastor Maldonado (who else?)
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Vettel on Bottas, I think (apart from Vandoorne's double overtake this morning but that was GP2)
Best Moment: excitement in the end with several close fights
DRS + Tyres: more or less OK
And the race in a sentence: never judge a race before it ends - one of the better Spanish GPs!

Best Driver: Vettel, Hamilton
Worst Driver: Maldonado- seems to have a mental block, uses his car as a battering ram
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: One of Vettels'- quite a few of them
Best Moment: Chequered flag
DRS + Tyres: Tyres good, DRS, no thanks, but if it has to be used then they had it about right for this race
And the race in a sentence... Standard Barcelona race, tight battle for victory, close Ferrari battle and a good comeback by Vettel.

Rating- 6/10

Best Driver: Vettel for the many overtakes on a difficult track. Lewis and Dan did a great job too.
Worst Driver: Maldonado
Best Team: Merecedes
Best Overtake: Kvyat on Guttierrez
Best Moment: Lewis and EJ sitting on the podium, sorry but I couldn't find a really good moment in the race, only some interestingly tense periods
DRS + Tyres: Hards too hard, DRS OK
And the race in a sentence... Mercedes unstoppable, probably making history.

Rating 6/10, not much excitement because it was clear Rosberg would never get Lewis.

Best Overtake  Vettel, around the outside.

And the race in a sentence...  Utter boredom with the leaders a minute or two ahead, only Vettel was racing.  I was actually doing a crossword for the first time ever in more than 30 years watching.

Only Vettel was frequently overtaking. Hamilton, Rosberg, Raikkonen, Alonso were all racing and also Ricciardo was racing for a limited period. Yes, the race was little bit boring, but it got some racing. This season in my opinion isn't as good as 2010, 2011 or 2012, but certainly on 2013 level.

Merc put Rosberg on a different strategy imo to avoid head to head racing, Alonso was given first stop and strategy advantage to get him past Raikkonen and Ricciardo ran a conservative 'hold position' race.  Not real racing imo.

2013 didn't go south until the second half when the tires were changed to Red Bull's advantage. So far this season is comparable to 2009 but without the benefit of the Brawn Cinderella story, and in the grand scheme of things unfortunately will be forgotten just as quickly.

About as good as the 2011 GP, or a bit better with some more battles and a car out of position at the start. 5/10

I almost fell asleep.

Boring. 3/10 from me.

Surely the same special mention should go to those rating this race 7 or above?

Why?  There was genuine uncertainty over who was going to win from the first to the last lap - I wonder what percentage of races in the last 20 years you could say that about?

That alone should justify at least a decent rating.

A good 8/10.

Best Driver - Vettel. Great recovery.
Worst Driver - Maldonado
Best Team - Mercedes
Best Overtake - Alonso on Kimi was pretty good.
Best Moment - Not really a moment as such but the tension as Nico chased Lewis in the last stint was great.
DRS + Tyres - Looked about right on both counts.
And the race in a sentence... A fine lead battle and plenty of uncertainty behind.

This wasn't the classic some are making out though, which is why I replied to your post. I didn't rate it overly low but if we are saying this was anything over 7 then the same question you applied earlier could be asked of those rating it at that.

The result was never in serious doubt - Hamilton was always winning this race. We've seen endings like this in Spain in the past with little actually happening (2012 the most recent)
