It's quite possible Rosberg deliberately took more risk at a point where he knew that if he lost it, he could take the escape road and also knowing that it would cause a yellow for his teammate behind.

If he parks it in the barriers, he would damage his car, he does not want to damage his car, he just wants yellow flags!

You clearly misunderstood what I wrote, or haven't watched a replay.

He parks up a few metres ahead of the white line, he could've stopped right NEXT to the barrier.

BEN ANDERSON: "Rosberg was 0.2s down after sector one, before locking up and heading for the Mirabeau escape road. Incident effectively ruined any chance Hamilton had of snatching pole after doing his own personal best in the first part of the lap."

Should be punished in the same way that blocking does, it's the same result.

No. I thought he was about to lose the car in Massenet, and then he just pushed too hard.

(I haven't seen the replays however...)

There's actually people who seriously think it was deliberate? This is hilarious.. I know you're bitter because that other driver was Hamilton, but cmon :D

I am sure the mistake was real. But he could have reversed way quicker by not rolling forward.

If he wanted to "guarantee" it wouldn't he have "parked" it into the barrier?

You don't need to do that at Monaco to spoil a quali lap.

Either way, not sure how anybody could say with 100% confidence whether it was a genuine error, or a little bit of play acting.

Looked like an error, but of course the fact that Nico was the beneficiary will raise eyebrows and conspiracy theories!

What if Hamilton had done the same? He would have hit at least one thing during him stopping. Rosberg should have known instantly he should have parked later on.

And? Then you wouldn't be able to say that Rosberg parked it, since Hamilton would make the same mistake, so that scenario doesn't really matter. Plus Rosberg was REALLY REALLY FAR, you could stop 2-3 times in that little alley before hitting Rosberg.

Yes. From the replay it seems clear he had the option to keep going.

The replay was very telling. Looks like he was seeking a blocked wheel with those steering motions. I say, back of the grid. That penalty was given before for the same infringement.

They all do that, there's a nasty bump on the left part of the run down to Mirabeau.

No. I know what you mean. But after the bump you place your car to the left. Look at the replay and you will see Rosberg didn't.

Why was he thinking about reversing, he knows the time is up, he should have drove right to the end of the run up road, he did not in the end. CHEAT WET WEAK DRIVER!

Because it's better for him, team and officials if he gets car back to pits on his own.

I am pretty sure the war had already started. Hence Rosberg celebrating in front of Hamilton without apologising or making any eye contact.

He looked up,  Then of course he gets off the ideal line. If I were in his position first thing that I tried to do is not to hit the barriers.

Was it deliberate? How would I know without seeing more data. So I can't really vote here.

I don't think Rosberg is a type of a guy who would have done this on purpose. I am sure it was just a misfortune for both Merc drivers. Not the first time this happens, it won't be the last time as well.

Hamilton's time for the first sector of his last flying lap was white - NOT Yellow, NOT Purple!

He had already lost it by the time he came across the yellow flags.

His claim that he had a couple of seconds was pure Bull Sh**!!!!

I hope that he never wins another race this year.

His attitude and reactions to Rosberg once he got out of his car were disgraceful :(

This might ending up look like 2007 all over again, only that I doubt Rosberg can give serious problems to Hamilton over the course of a full season

Quite - there is no precedent in Rosberg's prior seven seasons to suggest foul play. Rosberg might have pushed more in the knowledge he had provisional pole, possibly making it more likely he would make an error, but that doesn't mean he made a "deliberate" error.

Having raced F1 sims at Monaco for about 8 years I can say with 100% confidence yes he did park it. His line is wrong, his hand movements are wrong and his lockup comes way to late for him to have trouble making the corner. He could of easily turned in much earlier when there was no lockup but was busy doing weird things on the steering wheel.

Why are the celebrations suspicious? If I had pole around Monaco I'd celebrate even if it was a hollow pole.

He could have reversed a bit later, he reversed immediately knowing Lewis was just behind, in that particular part of the run off to cause the yellow flags! He could have just waited a 60 seconds to let the guys on the hot laps pass!

How? Surely the whole point of deliberately parking the car is that is that he would then act as if it was a mistake rather than stand there celebrating?

Remember how Schumacher reacted after his parking?

Because you're supposed to get car back to pits your self.

If you get car out of that place on your own..yellow flags will dissapear faster.

Does anyone have any data to prove Hamilton was "a couple of tenths" up? Sounds like a dubious claim to me.

I hope he did.....we need a need a new bad guy in F1. We have one in Maldanado but he is a danger to himself. Nico though can show that his priveleged upbringing hasnt diminished his ruthlessnes or hunger.

It was a green personal best, as per the official live timing app, and may have gone faster through both the second and final sector,

The more i watch it the more i think it was deliberate. And when i watch Schumacher 2006, i think it's the same.. They both move the steering wheel left right left right..

I find degusting too ear all these ex F1 driver say " it's the race, it's the F1 " while when it was Schumacher they were already say it was deliberate. I think if it was Schumacher instead of Rosberg he would be already DNF for the weekend.
