The only good thing about this race was Bianchi scoring points.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 14:22
Great race - second only to Bahrain. Points for Marussia and huge dollops of tabasco sauce all over the title battle. Perfect.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 14:26
Best Driver - Bianchi Rosberg
Worst Driver - Chilton (destroyed Raikkonen's race)
Best Team - Mercedes
Best Overtake - Hulkenberg on Magnussen (If I remeber well)
Best Moment - The start
DRS + Tyres - Never liked them
6/10... it was ok
Posted 25 May 2014 - 14:28
7/10.
Best Driver OH JULES
Worst Driver Raikkonen with his stupid hairpin "pass", where he got undercut by an ant walking along the track on account of not understanding how a turn radius works and parking it
Best Team In Soviet Marussia, 8th place is you!
Best Overtake Bianchi on Kobayashi
Best Moment The fleeting moment of happiness I felt for a guy who literally grew up in Monaco, which was something I never thought I'd be capable of
DRS + Tyres Lots of cars getting squirrely
And the race in a sentence... Lewis Hamilton: dirt in his eye or sand in his vagina?

To me is 8/10. Not as good as Bahrain but better than anything else this season.
Best Driver: Bianci
Worst Driver: Chilton and honourable mention of Hamilton

Rated it a 9...on any other circuit, I'd give it an 8, but Monaco never usually entertains, but it was great entertainment today.
Lewis' vision issue made for a very tense finish, Rosbergs fuel issue made the battle at the front intriguing...some nice battles through the field and brilliant to see Marussia bag some points!

Great Monaco race. 9/10
Best Driver - Rosberg/Ricciardo. Can't decide but both were great.
Worst Driver - Perez. Silly trying to hang on like that so early.
Best Team - Mercedes. It'll be hard to pick any other this year.
Best Overtake - Hulkenberg on Magnussen at Portier. Never seen that before.
Best Moment - The Raikkonen/Magnussen crash guaranteeing Marussia points.
DRS + Tyres - Mostly invisible. Just how I like it.
Race in a sentence. All the drama, action and excitement we expect from Monaco.

6.

Rubbish
BD - Jules
WD - Sutil
BT - John Booth Inc.
BO - Nico Cheatberg over-taking Max Finish 24/7
BM - The end of the driving as there was no racing today (Roll on Indy 500 that's a race)
DRS & T - No point & Stones
Rias - Not a race, Scrap it now.

Best Driver: ROS
Worst Driver: HAM (all the whining )
Best Team: MERC
Best Overtake: -
Best Moment: -
DRS + Tyres: -

Dull. But I love the track so much, I still look forward to it and enjoy it. It had it's moments, and the onboards are always good. You have to be a hardcore F1 fan to enjoy it though.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 14:55
Best Driver - I'm gonna choose Bianchi for finishing in the points, and you can't fault Nico for winning.
Worst Driver - Perez's move was pretty dumb. And Raikkonen really should of known better at the hairpin.
Best Team - Merc yet again.
Best Overtake - Hulk at Portier of course. Who says there's only two overtaking spots at Monaco?
Best Moment - When I realised Kimi/Magnussen's tangle had guaranteed Marussia points.
DRS + Tyres - No issue, and they haven't been for a while.
Great race at Monaco, certainly one of the better ones in recent years. No red flags either, which were becoming quite common.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 14:58
Good show crashes, failures but...utterly boring in terms of racing, the only chance which would make this race interesting would be pitstops because of fight for 1st and 3rd but SC ruined it, btw unnecessary SC because Sutil car was off the track, and debris could be taken by marshalls there are good spots to do it. Something must happen with this GP, IMO track layout must be changed.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 15:00
If not for the crashes, and little spiced up last 10 laps, it was a bore.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 15:08
8/10. Fairly interesting for a Monaco grand prix.
Best Driver: Rosberg
Worst Driver: Chilton
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Hulk on Mag
Best Moment: Points for Marussia (I guess..)
DRS + Tyres: All ok
Race in a sentence: Chilton sucks and doesn't belong in F1.

For Monaco, I thought it was one of the best. 8/10.
Way more action than usual....
Bianchi and Hulk ...
Oh, and McLaren finished both cars in the points...
Vettel deserved better...
Kimi should have known better...
Ricciardo is the real deal...
Posted 25 May 2014 - 15:45
8/10, first time this year I give more than 2
Best Driver - Hamilton, all those hungry overtaking moves he did on Rosberg in a way which is so Senna, I can't decide which one of them was the best. The start finish straight, loews, the tunnel, diving and making something like 10 obvious passes where he passed Rosberg over and over again like he said he would do. Seriously. Rosberg owned this race.
Worst Driver - Sutil, he had it coming to him
Best Team - Mercedes
Best Overtake - Kimi at the start
Best Moment - some of these first laps it looked like the Ferrari was hunting down 2 Mercedes cars and even though I know it was just my imagination it looked exciting.
DRS + Tyres - should have been softer
Posted 25 May 2014 - 15:51
DRS + Tyres - Mostly invisible. Just how I like it.
You can say that again. No cheese tyres or DRS passes yet positive reviews all around.

Best Driver - Ricciardo
Worst Driver - Crashonado (man, he crashed out even before the race this time).
Best Team - Mercedes, you can't fault them (in comparison).
Best Overtake - The Hulk, who else.
Best Moment - Can't pick one standout moment, but it was enjoyable to watch all the way.
DRS + Tyres - Shrug, I don't think that they had an unexpected influence.
A decent and entertaining race, especially considering the location. Congrats to Marussia.
Curious as to how you have Dan as best driver.
He qualified in third, lost two places and finished third only because the guys in front of him had issues. In the end he finished where he qualified.

Best Driver No standouts. Bianchi had a good race.
Worst Driver Hamilton
Best Team Mercedes
Best Overtake Bianchi on Koba
Best Moment The flag, another 2014 style boring race
DRS + Tyres DRS is useless in Monaco, tires a non factor
And the race in a sentence... Boredom, no battle at the front as promised just Hamilton whining about pitstops and blaming 'dirt in his eye' for not being able to keep up to Rosberg. No entertaining battles anywhere really.
Rating 2 being generous.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 16:15
Best Driver: Rosberg. Handled the pressure from Lewis really well
Worst Driver: Chilton / Perez
Best Team: Mercedes. Not a suprise really
Best Overtake: Hulk on KMag.
Best Moment: Bianchi crossing the line and securing points finish
Monaco has always been a borefest for me. The most hypnotic race circuit on the calendar.

Rather processional and boring. But on other hand Monaco is usually more or less a procession.
Posted 25 May 2014 - 20:15
Best Driver: Hesitate to give it to Rosberg after Quali, which makes it difficult. Perhaps Ricciardo, although he had some luck. Bianchi actually kept a Lotus at bay (on track) although it sounds like what happened on the grid was basically his mistake. So probably the Hulk for making those tyres work for so long.
Worst Driver: Thought Kobayashi was really struggling, although he says he had damage. So it'll have to be a crasher. Raikkonen's move on Magnussen was a wtf moment, but he had a great first stint, Sutil turned in some good passes before he crashed and Gutierrez was running quite well so Perez, I suppose, takes the prize. Although he impressed me in Qualifying.
Best Team: Obvious answer is Mercedes for another 1-2, but I'll give it to Marussia partly because its great to see them get a point, and partly because who would have thought a couple of years ago that a Marussia would be going well enough to take advantage of non-terminal contact between a Ferrari and a Mclaren? Safety car or no safety car, that's impressive.
Best Overtake: Great pass from Hulk going into the tunnel, and I also liked Bianchi on Kobayashi. A little dirty, but you gotta do what ya gotta do if the survival of your team depends on it.
Best Moment: With the greatest of respect to both, the moment Raikkonen hit Magnussen and guaranteed Bianchi some points brought the biggest smile of the day. The last ten laps, again, were great, with Ricciardo closing in on Hamilton as well.
DRS/Tyres: DRS virtually useless, but that can't be helped. The tyres were actually too durable for me - the best Monaco race in recent years was 2011 when we had three different strategies coming together to fight for the win before the late red flag. That was never going to happen today, although they did seem to be flat out, which was nice.
And the race in a sentence: Gave it a 7, but feel I've been a little harsh. Plenty happened!

Best Driver: Bianchi - great drive from Rosberg as well
Worst Driver: Sergio Perez? There were a lot of drivers with +/- performances btw like Kimi (overall great but 1 clear error), Jan Magnussen (great race but let himself surprise by Button), Gutierrez (excellent pace but 1 big mistake), Sutil, Kobayashi and Button (rather invisible and then suddenly awake when it mattered)
Best Team: Mercedes, Marussia
Best Overtake: of course Nico Hulkenberg on Magnussen at Portier! Simply fantastic.
Best Moment: that pass, but some other passes as well like Sutil's at the hairpin
Worst Moment: Kimi's puncture
DRS + Tyres: DRS not relevant, tyres too hard
Race in a sentence: intense and exciting - especially the final part
8/10

Was there a race? I saw the start, the second start, Vettel retire and then dosed off. Woke up with Hamilton whinging, dosed off and saw Nico take the flag with Lewis still griping and being pratt at the presentation. And the commentary waffling about Lewis not talking to Nico. It appears the race was about Lewis, nothing else.
As for the qualifying incident the officials said no foul play so Lewis should butt out and get on with the job. He was outdriven by Nico in the bits I saw of the race. About 3rd or 4 th best in the best car.
Posted 26 May 2014 - 07:06
The advantage of the Mercs is really bad. When last year was boring, this is extremely borng. Bianchi drove nice, Hülkenberg good, Dani gets a cookie. Vettel seems to have taken over Mark´s car. But well, at least his is not whining.
But in the end, I must say I can no longer come up with a reason to watch it.

DRS - Useless

Best Driver - Ricciardo
Worst Driver - Hamilton: he had the best car but kept on whining the whole weekend because his team didn't put him in front of Nico
Best Team - Marussia
Best Overtake - Hulkenberg on Magnussen
Best Moment - Ricciardo driving like mad while the guy in front of him was whining
DRS + Tyres - Who cares, we had people crashing out of the race, engines going off in a cloud of blue smoke and the underdogs scoring points, it was just like the 90's. I don't need artificial racing, i just want racing to the limit. If I want to see engines running 5000km I just watch Le Mans.
