We know McLaren and Honda will want a 'star' driver, and Ron knows as well as anyone that the best time to approach Sebastian is when the championship isn't going as well as he is used to it to go, with the unreliability and weaker engine.

If Ron offered him a contract staying he was a fully supported 'number one' driver, I'm sure Sebastian would love to drive a McLaren Honda like Ayrton once did...

Perfect time for a McLaren coup I feel...

.....or mostly, a thread for "there isn't a thread of Vettel to McLaren in 2015 yet so let's have one".

Anybody feel free to start "Kimi to McLaren in 2015" too and I think we have the pressing topics covered.

Specialized drivers for certain tracks, that's a good tactic for sure ;)

You are doing it wrong. It needs to be a thread.

OP, At least add a '?' in title so that people dont waste time opening the thread assuming Vettel has signed with McLaren.

my 2p.

Although I agree the addion of the '?' would be better, if anyone were to assume Vettel has signed for McLaren on the basis of a forum thread they should probably get a credulity check. (Then again, billions believe in sky-fairies, so there are probably plenty).

Could you at least put a question mark in the title thread?

It's funnier this way and I can't edit a thread title anyway. If a mod could be bothered, sure.

Well it's funny but a bit misleading, I went check news immediately before getting in the thread   But yeah, I was calling for a mod to do it

Vettel wont go to McLaren, he's gonna start wonderign soon though how he's gonna handle this Ricciardo situation though and I don't see him reacting positively. The drivers these days are not very grown up they act much more like brothers playing the playstation when they lose then they did in the e.g. Berger Alesi days.

Berger and Alesi were Berger and Alesi. They got along generally well, then again Prost and Senna, Mansell and Piquet were very much like kids with Playstation. When stakes are higher people tend to behave worse.

Number 1 status in a team that has two WDC championships in 20 years (1998 and 2008) and one WCC championship (1999) in that same time frame. Also with the uncertainty of the Honda engine - it could be an even bigger dud than the Renault power plant - does not sound very tempting.

2016 though....could see Mclaren secure a big name,

Jep. 2015 is too big of a risk, especially with (truthful) positive sounds about a car only leaking really late in the year. Can't see either Vettel or Alonso joining them next year, I think they will stick with Button (surely) and Magnussen. He was a long(er)term project anyway.
