Racing starts shortly with trucks freen flag at 5:45 ET today. Kyle on pole and fastest in practice.

Nationwide 2:45 green flag Sat, Chase Elliott fastest so far.

Cup 1:15 Sunday, Kyle fastest again in practice.

Last chance to hear boggity-boogity-FOX for the year, then it's Alexander/Petty/Dallenbach and more McReynolds on TNT.

I'm hoping it will be the exact opposite this weekend.

so far (although determined by crashes) the racing looks not too bad. If the outside line (or lane?) gets working better there should be great racing :)

The race follows Charlotte, so it can't help but look good for at least a while   ;)

Used to be a 500 mile grind until they reduced it in the 1990s. Even then there was a wreckfest several years ago that included a 20 car pileup, Martin won with an average speed around 95 MPH.

Awful truck race. I understand he isn't getting points, but there needs to be something done to stop Kyle Busch from running the series. I have Ryan Blaney as the title winner, and while I think he will be in a Penske Cup seat in a few years, if he can't beat Busch for race wins, what would it really say if he wins the title?

Maybe he needs to step back and focus on Cup. I look at Jimmie Johnson. Only runs Cup and is a race contender every weekend.

It varies. It can be really good. And the track is very tricky coming off the turn heading down the back stretch and sometimes it leads to some tremendous wrecks. But other times it can be boring if certain drivers that race well there have great cars (like Jimmie Johnson) because they'll often lead damn near every lap.

Somewhere there is an alternate universe where Kyle Busch has turned some of those 10,000 laps led into actual Championships in the NASCAR series that matters.

I would like to hold a moment of silence for the fans in the Kryle Dimension.

It's ironic. I'm with four other mates, watching a Nigerian, drinking and enjoying the race, and it feels like we're more involved than those empty grandstands.

Yeah, when Mike Joy yells "CAR IN THE WALL!", that seems like the perfect time to continue showing Brian Vickers talking to his crew, then cutting directly to commercial.

I'm watching Nascar regularly since '11 and I still can't get used to the fact that 'loose' is oversteer and 'tight' is understeer.

I'm used to just about everything about NASCAR and frankly I'm convinced that means I'm wasting my life.

They red flagged, or did the pommie nigerian broadcaster pick the only car on the track to be stopped?

Ahh, red flagged

RaceFansOnly appears to be DogeFansOnly now, so I no longer watch NASCAR unless I'm actually near a TV. Which I save up for Indycar.

Sounds like my Mosquito Genocide is more fun anyways.

If that piece of visibris had just flown away instead of exploding, the thing could have been really nasty

PS. The guys of the Premier signal are a bit obsessed with fixing the camera on the Budweiser driver during USA commercials

Time to wander off to Indycar me thinks.  This is like watching concrete dry.

Part of the concrete smashed the window on the walkway above the turn. It may have been sheer luck that it was in the right spot to keep it from going into the crowd.....

Unfortunate for Kyle that he didn't get to try for the three-peat (no one was likely to beat Johnson anyway) but realistically he didn't need to risk that move so early in a long race and create the situation in the first place.

Wow, empty stands.

Years of price gouging visiting racing fans has made Dover one of the last places fans want to go attend a race.

It doesn't help  the overall infrastucture ( camping , hotels , markets) surrounding the immediate track area is minimal at the best, which makes it  far less appealing to attend compared to other tracks in the region.

But he's Kyle Busch. He is faster than Jimmie Johnson, but because he still hasn't matured past the 18 year of Kyle Busch, he will forever be the guy who wins a bunch of races, but makes boneheaded move after boneheaded move which keeps him from ever taking a title at the top level.

The new goofball format might be his best hope for a Cup title. You don't have be focused for 10 full races, just need a win or good result at the right time, and the pne-race championship could well be settled by a late restart.
