I don't know which GP it was, but Jackie Stewart won it, I remember being really happy that a Scot had won! I know it was 1973.

The motor racing bug bit that day, and it has never let go... :drunk:

'96 Canadian GP, the ol' Wurz barrel-roll.

Or was that '97?

Neither mate. It was the 1998 event. Wurz, substituting for Berger at the time due to the latter suffering from a sinus infection did dump his Benetton into the what would be known as "Wall Of Champions" during practice in 1997, though.

As for my answer to the original question: Austria 1985. I was 8 and still remember watching Andrea de Cesaris doing a cartwheel up the hill in his Ligier.... I was hooked form that point on.

First race I saw on TV was...I'm not sure! Very early 90's as I remember the red and white Mclaren's.

First race I stayed up for/got up early for was Suzuka 96

First race I went to was Belgium 2002

I was 12. I did not want to go to school the next morning. The best way to combat this is to simply not sleep! The longer you are awake, the longer it feels that you won't be at school. I watched the Monaco 2007 highlights from ITV at 1am. Some British dude was chasing some other guy. I was so excited to see if he could do it! It's strange because I don't remember watching Canada or the US GP, but I remember parts from the Nurburgring and I remember watching British GP qualifying on absolute edge. It's all quite a blur really.

Australia 2009, start of me watching it religiously, especially the European leg of the season as I was only 14 or 15 at that stage and I got to stay up until midnight the night before school, which I loved watching before I go to bed, and learning how to cheer silently while everyone was asleep when Webber won his first race, great memories.

I still remember watching the Brazilian GP which started at 3 in the morning (Aus time) or something like that, when I had my final high school exam at 8am the next morning, and doing an exam on about one hour sleep, was definitely worth it though. Most people just look at you like your strange when you do things like that, but I probably would have went terrible in the exam if I didn't watch it because the whole time I would have been thinking about the race

Still this day when I see my exam timetable for uni and see I have an exam on a monday morning, the first thing I check is whether or not there is an f1 race the night before, unfortunately they don't offer special consideration for watching f1 races............ until I'm in charge of education
