WTF... Just put the race edits/highlights on YouTube you dummies, you already give it away for free on your own site anyway...

They'd be dumb to not put the race edits there. The videos are sort-of ads of the supposed glamour, excitement and circus of F1 anyway so presenting them somewhere where people will actually watch them would be a good idea.

Wouldn't surprise me to see race edits that feature lots of close shots of celebrities and big-wigs and little track action.

Excellent, it even comes with the white-is-yellow colour filter. The kids will love it!
The YouTube videos are a positive move though. Like it or not, it's a big platform and unfortunately one that the teams have so far been failed to really exploit.

They get with the internet just in time to provide content for a messed up series. Great.
They're going to want to charge for "premium" content, and yes, they will be able to do that on Youtube soon.
Which would be fine if it was HD coverage of the races without BS, but.... Yeah.

They've always got the internet in terms of it's reach. But the thought of giving something away for free leaves a bad taste in their mouths. So, yes, I'm sure it'll soon cost for anything you might be interested in.

I have no problem with paying if it's high quality. I fear they're going to want people to pay money for a bunch of dreck and "race highlights" when they should be providing the race.
Peter Windsor's turn analysis is the kind of content I want, Ted's Notebook, behind the scenes technical stuff that is not lowest common denominator. The F1 app looks good - but asking to pay when I don't know what I'm going to be paying for is sort of a faux fallow strategy.
