a few times perez was only 1.063 behind nico into the drs timing line, perez might of had a chance if he got drs.

There were several laps early on just after Perez caught Rosberg were he was within 1s (~0.5 at the finish line was the closest he got I think) were he didn't use the DRS despite being close enough.

You're sure about that? Where did such power suddenly come from?

Yes I am. Have a look at the race's speed trap figures from the FIA website and you'll see Massa was nowhere near anyone when he crossed the timing beam.

The top speed is going to be limited by the fuel flow allowed?
so it is impressive that massa hit 347 with only 100 kg/hour.
I wonder what rate the v10's were running at when they hit 340+

I founf that at least on the live timing the speed trap was not working for the majoritiy of the race. The Mercedes even had fastest laps of 1:14

No, power of the Internal Combustion engine is limited by the fuel flow above ~11500rpm. Top speed is determined by drag, gearing, power (ICE + ERS) and how good your exit from the turn 10 hairpin was.

I was going to ask what the top speeds would have been like in the 80's with the last generation of turbo's, but a little research shows there were chicanes down the straight then.

MotoGP at Mugello were hitting 350 + according to Brembo.

350 on a bike is mental.
