Although this is presumably related to the new(ish) software there seems to be a problem with text disappearing from PMs when you send them.

I've had two instances of this (that I know of!) One which I received from another member, who mentioned it when I replied quoting his original and another today, saying that details which I knew I had definitely put in the original message weren't there.

There seems to be a common theme in those two, which is that the missing text was after a link within the PM.

Anyone else seeing this? Or suspect that they are?

I definitely do, and have reported it before.  It happens when you use the pop-up PM box only.  If you use the pop-up box and click through to the full view, it doesn't happen.  I did some testing with G4E back when the software was new.

When you say 'popup PM box only' do you mean clicking on the 'Messenger' link and then 'Compose new'? Sophie and I have been trying to replicate it and couldn't, but she initiated the conversation, so i don't know how she opened it up.

I went to the messenger link, 'compose new', and then dug your name out of the directory rather than clicking on your profile and using 'send message' if that helps.

Ah, so maybe he means the 'send message' link from when you hover over the username?

I do.  Where the 'compose message' sits over the forum page showing a box for subject and another for the message - that's where the text after a link is removed.  You can click the button at the bottom to get to the full editor and the problem will go away.

I'm sure it will be fixed in the fullness of time, when circumstances allow, after due consideration, taking into account the pros and cons, after benefits are duly weighed with an eye on available resources, when the risks are properly assessed, in accordance with established procedures, with an eye on possible creation of a precedent, with an expectation that adverse ramifications are avoided, at the right moment, in the appropriate situation, at the correct juncture...

Happily (and somewhat surprisingly) haven't been plagued with this problem.

Have recently exchanged some PMs via the pop-up and via the Messenger's general menu.

As such, at least one aspect of the program appears to be working.

A workaround for this problem is to refer to links with an Astrix or (indicate that there will be a link to follow), then write or paste the link at the end of the message.
