The duration of the race makes Le Mans hard to watch? So, how do you watch it? Get up late on Saturday and stay up until the race is finished. Or a few hours of sleep during the race? Or do you just watch some parts of the race and live mostly your normal life?

Last year was my first time watching Le Mans. I watched some racing on Saturday afternoon and evening. Then some sleep and watching Le Mans and Stanley Cup final at night. Few more hours of sleep to see maybe the last four hours.

This year, I don't know yet. I'd watch the entire race if my schedule allowed it, just don't know yet. If I manage to get lots of sleep on Saturday morning and get up in early afternoon, then I might stay up until they finish. If that's not possible, then a shorter sleep and try to catch as much as possible.

I tend to watch first 2-3 hours, then go do something, and probably be back to racing at around 1-2am for 1-2hours. Then I watch everything from the moment I wake up on Sunday until the end.

Normally I'd try to watch when ever it's possible for me. Previous years this has meant the start, couple of hours befor going to sleep, maybe an hour in the morning and the last 45-30 minutes.

This year, however, I'll miss the start and the finish. This is because when given the choice between watching Le Mans on TV and going to an actual race, the latter takes priority. The only thing bugging me is that I'll miss the Group C race.

Same as Dweller. I can't do the full 24 hours, but if I'm feeling anxious about what's happening when I'm away from the broadcast, I know it's working.

In 2010 I was studying for exams and had Radio Le Mans on all night as I slept. Remember being half awake but registering it every time a Peugeot dropped out. Magical times.

Besides there's World Cup games on this weekend.

I generally wake up early for the warmup and legends race, have a couple of hours kip and then stay awake for the full race through until Sunday night (by which point I'm completely cream crackered)

Besides, you have to have some energy left to watch NASCAR at Michigan later on Sunday.

Oh and for a serious answer: when I can. I usually sail on Saturday afternoons, so I miss that part. I like my sleep, so I usually just watch just before bed and then first thing in the morning. Then depending on how it's going will determine how much I watch on the Sunday.

I try to watch all of the race, but sometimes if it looks like it's settled down I'll get a few hours sleep. That tends to bite me though as I missed the Audi fightback of 08 and the end of the 2012 battle through doing that.

I watch the first few laps, maybe the first hour. Then I tune in at the end if there's a half decent battle. At the very very end otherwise. Even when I don't have something else to do, I'm not going to waste hours on cars going around.

somewhere b/w 2nd and 3rd option. Sleep more than couple of hours but try to less than usual. Just put it on always, pay some attention to it always, sometimes focus on it, while spending time just as normal doing my stuff.

I sleep with the coverage on in the background. Obviously I don't sleep as well, but I pick up some of the commentary during the night.

When I'm there, no sleep! At home, life is a little less disrupted, with Eurosport on in the background.

In 2010 (the first year I followed it closely) I was at the circuit and had to sleep as I had to start a nine-hour drive back home as soon as the race finished!  I did go to sleep wearing one of the RLM headsets though.

In 2011 I watched the entire race without sleeping on Eurosport player with RLM.

In 2012 I watched the race until the Toyotas were out of contention.

In 2013, my now elderly laptop was no longer able to stream live video, so I followed the text commentary on Autosport.com until Allan Simonsen's death was confirmed.

This year I plan to watch the entire race (new laptop!) once again, although I will probably give up during the night if two of the LMP1 manufacturers are out of contention by this stage.

I get a big bucket full of fresh water, soak them after massaging the outsides by hand, then dry them off on a towel spread out on a table top (works for me!)

I was going to watch it through the WEC/Le Mans app but £7.49 to use the TV bit is to pricey for something I will only use for some of the weekend. So instead I will follow through the live chat on autosport and finding the odd clip/stream here or there. :) Hope lots of people will be in the chat, it should be fun. :D

I always try to stay up but i normally fall asleep in the early hours and then wake up around midday. This year will inevitably be the same.

At this point in your life, surely this would only represent a marginal increase in your overall wasted hours watching car going around.

So you have a short attention span. How do you call yourself a motorsport enthusiast if you can only watch 60 minutes of racing? Even F1 is longer.

Usually just go about my daily life; sleeping as normal. I don't stay in specifically to watch it as I do with F1, partly because it takes up a lot more time and partly because I'm much more of a casual fan of endurance racing. But I catch up on the night's events when I wake up in the morning, have it on in the background when I'm in the house and if I go out do try to keep track of things using Twitter.

Because after an hour of F1 I've only got 30-45 minutes to go, but with Le Mans I've barely started?

I watch the Steve McQueen film. It's arguably a bit silly in parts, but the cars and the track aren't neutered by political correctness.

The question is aimed at those who do, obviously. I don't go to MotoGP threads to tell them all I don't watch it. I just ignore them.

All 24 hours awake (well might fall into a power nap during the night but I always try and stay up for the whole 24 hours) And this year it's the Nürburgring 24 hour the following weekend which I usually attend live and there ... well you are up for 24 hours + there as well.

I tend to watch the first hours, then trail off after I make dinner. I don't care much the night (that is: pitlane) coverage so I usually turn it off once it gets dark.

I try to wake up early on Sunday to catch those sunrise hours. That's definitely my favourite part of the race. Then it'll be on for the rest of the race. :)

Mostly with my eyes.

This would be my prefered method also.  As yet however, I've been unable to distract PAYR long enough so he doesn't notice, so sadly I've had to use my own which I rest through sleep per normal weekend routines during Le Mans.

Stay up as late as I can (usually about 3/4am), then Sky+ the rest and watch on delay as soon as I wake up, media/internet blackout all day Sunday till I watch the finish.

I just watch when I can, I saw about 5 hours in 2012 and a bit more than that last year. Never watched the start but seen the finish both times.

Where's the 'leave it on in the background all day, pay attention when something interesting happens, go to sleep as normal, wake up and watch the last two hours', option? :p
