Quite a simple idea, all the F1 drivers who scored a pole position at an F1 championship race (minus the Indianapolis 500), but never actually won a race. I think this is a rather intriguing list to discuss.

Nick Heidfeld -- (EUR. 2005)

Teo Fabi -- (GER. 1985 & AUT.1986 & ITA. 1986)

Andrea De Cesaris -- (USA West. 1982)

Bruno Giacomelli -- (USA. 1980)

Tom Pryce -- (GBR. 1975)

Jean-Pierre Jarier -- (ARG. 1975 & BRA. 1975 & CAN. 1978)

Chris Amon -- (5 different occasions!)

Mike Parkes -- (ITA. 1966)

Stuart Lewis-Evans -- (ITA. 1957 & NED. 1958)

Eugenio Castellotti -- (BEL. 1955)

Interestingly the numbers appear to be divided quite equally between those drivers who had careers sadly cut short (Castelloti, Lewis-Evans, Parkes and Pryce) and others who had relatively long stints in the sport.

Fabi of course had his three poles but never managed to lead any race (at the start/finish line).
