20 minutes to go
Anyone know if it's dry? Saw a forecast yesterday that reckoned it was going to be a showery FP1
edit: There are cloudy skies but it's dry for the moment!

Any links to alternative live timings ?

That pitlane entry looks like trouble. Also, after a week of watching football, the obnoxious camera angles with regards to the trackside advertising is quite a rude reawakening.

Anyone else having problems with the live timing app?
Posted 20 June 2014 - 08:16
So Rosberg's DNF happens on Friday of course
Posted 20 June 2014 - 08:16
The track is beautiful , and the elevation changes so steep!
Already problems for Rosberg and Kimi by the sound of things
(that was very close between Lewis and Nico)

Both Raikkonen and Rosberg's issues obviously not too serious as both back out on track.

What are the compounds for this weekend chaps ?
Posted 20 June 2014 - 08:36
soft and supersofts

Soft and supersoft

What's up with the director? Cars out on track and he keeps cutting to other things.

Rain drops on the camera

Nice to see the drivers having to respect the track. Seb was very lucky there.

Wow!!
A proper track!
With trees and gravel and other normal stuff.... how long can it last?
Posted 20 June 2014 - 09:31
Rosberg's lap is 3.4s slower than the 2003 pole time. I'm actually impressed, by Q3 they might be sub-70s or 69s (Dudes!).
Posted 20 June 2014 - 09:31
I hear they're sealing the run-off areas later.....after they cut the trees down...

Looks like having a Mercedes engine is a good idea round here. Not unexpected as it is a power circuit and one of the fastest on the calendar. Wonder what Ferrari put in Alonso's car though.

Hmm Not sure about that. 3.4s is nearly 5% of a 71s lap. In Spain they only only went 2s quicker form FP1 to Q3, that's only a 2.4% improvement. This doesn't take track dirtiness and tyres into account I know. My prediction is they'll be 2.1s off it, about a 70 flat in Q3.
I'd be pleasantly impressed if they do beat 2003 times though!

Business as usual then.

Hmmm Vettel slower in FP1 that Ricci ... safe to say that all the "he'll be faster when he likes the car" talk is about to disappear .......
Vettel is being dominated by his rookie teammate.

I can only assume he means how fast they are considering what we have become familiar with.

Eh? Sky posted pictures on FB where they showed how this track still has gravel run traps, and now all I see is bunch of tarmac run off with adverts.

Anyone got a good live timing tracker? The one I have been using got taken down.
Posted 20 June 2014 - 13:11
Is the pecking order any different at all to Canada? Maybe RB a bit worse, but other than that all looks very similar
Posted 20 June 2014 - 13:21
Hamilton looking like he was driving on ice with his long run on the super softs.
Posted 20 June 2014 - 13:31
What did Nico say?
