When Vettel had a car this dominant he was putting it on pole every race and running away with it. Hamilton is basically throwing away a championship, which would make him something like a 3 time non-champion  (granted, 2012 was more mclaren being completely incompetent but still). 

 

Throwing away the championship by outperforming (albeit narrowly) his teammate in almost every race where he didn't DNF from problems with his car?  Yesterday's qualifying is the first time this season Hamilton has really blown it, and it didn't hurt him as much as it could have since Rosberg didn't have a great qualifying either.

 

It's pretty amusing that you would bring up Vettel as sort of of high standard of perfect driving.  He is having a lot harder time against his teammate this year than Hamilton is!  Hamilton made it to Q3 at least.
