Never....going...to.....happen.  Never.

Usual ghost-written PR filler to those sort of things.

Definitely will not happen. He will be too old to make the switch when he's done with F1. Not to mention the fact he has no experience in racing motorbikes! If we one day see a MotoGP and F1 world champion, I think it will be a motorcyclist who switches to F1 rather than an F1 driver who switches to MotoGP. Considering the lack of success Rossi has had since 2009, I do wish that he gave F1 a go. However difficult it may have been to actually join F1.

yeah, get paid less and get hurt more. They break bones on a weekly basis there. he wouldn't last a day

Not to mention, he'll have to start from the bottom all over again in moto3 or whatever.

Lewis looks like the 'cool guy' in F1 but would look like the try-hard he is by bike rider standards.

What happens if he is good? Rossi made the transition from bikes to F1 v well, although I reckon it's easier to go that route, rather than 4 -> 2

If he's good, he's good.

But yea, while F1 is a specialized motorsport, bikes are even moreso. Its a whole different world and the sort of talent that makes you good in an F1 car is gonna be largely irrelevant on a bike.

I'm interested to see what Hamilton could do on a bike. They should have a bike race for fun between all the current drivers. That would be exciting.

That switch, from successful, rich and physically intact car racer to respectable Moto GP aspirant, is mind-bogglingly daunting. Consider what sensory remapping must be learned while risking near-inevitable consequences. It, to me, appears all but impossible. That sequence of achievement would be unappreciated even by historians who would simply note an addition to the "Champion on 2 wheels and 4" club. The fact that Schumacher made something of an attempt in that direction should accompany any description of his career. Should someone ever do that double, in that order, it would be merit racing's ultimate accolade considering the degree of difficulty.

Maybe he just wants to do what Schumacher did? Doesn't sound like he wants to race MotoGP.

Somewhat says, "I know Surtees was double champ in F1 and bikes, I'd like to do that." After watching a few WSBK races this year, he could probably jump in there and do pretty respectable.

Did anyone else chuckle when they read

"I see some reflections of myself in Marc. When I watch him, I'm always thinking: 'I would have done it like this.' Then he takes the exact lines I would have - and they work. It's really cool to see that"

No, no he couldn't.  Even Schu wasn't silly enough to think he could compete in WSBK.

Seriously, what are some of you smoking.  Aside from the fact the article is a ghost-written PR burst, even if Hamilton did go bike racing he might be competitive at a national SBK level, but then again the BSB is bloody good, so maybe not.

I also wonder how he'd accept his first broken leg, and finger, and collarbone - all in separate incidents.  And the only acceptable answer to that is be perfectly willing to accept a second of each.  Show me a bike racer at the top level who says he or she hasn't broken a finger and a collarbone at least twice and I'll show you a liar.

How come I never thought of that?!

I take the same lines as Hamilton does in an F1 Sim. That will make me a winner if I ever race in F1. Right?

I would love to see him give a try to competitive bike riding... It is a lot more physical on track and crashing isn't just limited to bracing and thinking, "it's going to hurt!" If anything i think it may teach him some humility... personally, i think it would be a good thing.

He wants to be as cool as Kimi, as he has said himself.

LOL - He would get his ass handed to him by any mid-grid rider in a national superbike championship (as would any other F1 driver) - anyone who doesn't see that can't watch much bike racing.

Comparing yourself to MM - Wow, just Wow.

Y'know when I was sitting on my sofa watching qually today, I thought I would take this line and then Massa only went and done the same and put it on pole; I mean draw your own conclusions but to me it's obvious that I could be out there doing that...

I'd say he has more chance of going to indycars and living the us lifestyle than moto gp!
