Any more stupid questions?

Seriously? I'm aggravated by the slower stops too but sabotage? I'll have what you're smoking.

I'm convinced Mercedes are in fact a front for a secret Illuminati racing team.

Surprised it took this long for Hamilton fans to make these threads. I bet you weren't complaining of sabotage when he won four on a trot........

Not a conspiracy

But the difference today has been the pit stops swinging in Nico's favor. If they would have been equal, Lewis would probably be ahead.

nah, track position is king. also, Hamilton got the preferential stop second time, despite being behind, sort of compensates for the slow stops   ;)

fun fact: even though Hamilton had more bad stops this year, the only one that actually cost track position was Rosberg's, in canada.

The undercut was not the best strategy. In the context of 2.3s pitstops, for Hamilton to lose 1.9s in stops alone was bizarre. Proportionately a massive underperformance from the Mercedes pits on Hamilton's two stops.

There is no conspiracy, but Mercedes really need to sort out their pit stops.  When the pressure was on Williams did a 2.1 second record stop, Mercedes did a 3.5 or 4.0 seconds stop.

Actually, despite the sneering from the dregs it's actually noticeable the lack of urgency the pit crew have when Hamilton pits in comparison to Rosberg, and it shows on the stop watch. Possibly just coincidence, but it's happened in a couple of races now when the battle has been close and the pit stop time critical.

I'm more annoyed at the stage managed engine settings. Rosberg uses considerably more fuel than his teammate, yet his teammate is pegged to run the same settings out of 'fairness'.

It's because the German team Mercedes (based in UK, run by Brits and Austrians with British engineers and mechanics) want the German driver Rosberg (only half German, lived in Monaco all his life) to win.

I am going to start paying closer attention to it though, does seem strange.

Of course it was. And they did it to get in front of Bottas.

Nah, there is a discussion to be had- perhaps a clean up of the comics would help the topic as well as a change in title which is perhaps too emotive and sends some into troll territory.

Mercedes sent an army of invisible people to spin Hamilton yesterday in T2, so it's obvious that they are sabotaging him. Also, they put butter on his tyres.

It's not a conspiracy, don't be ridiculous. Lewis's pit crew are undoubtedly doing a worse job than Nico's, but I don't see it as deliberate.

Lewis should have done a better job in qualy and not started ninth on the grid. As simple as that.

Maybe he got his positioning wrong like Mark suggested?  Seems a bit strange for them to be so consistently fast on one car and slow on the other.

I think a discussion of whether the pitstops will be fine

Hamilton fans? It took one person, lets not exaggerate! And I'd say it would be monumentally dishonest not to acknowledge the time lost by Hamilton in the pits in such a close battle is detrimental to his race.

Even if its worth an honest debate, Lets not jump straight into the "conspiracy" camp right away please. It detracts from real discussion because its not debatable that Lewis' stops were significantly slower, and judging by the way the race unfolded had Lewis had the same pitstop times as Rosberg he'd have had a much better go at it. That said, its all ifs and buts, but PLEASE, cut this "conspiracy" screaming out, as its obviously just going to invite ridicule from a few camps, and rightly so. It makes Hamilton supporters look bad.
