G'Day all.

Do any of the Aussies here know how to get in contact with Buster Saunders? He is currently racing a 350cc Jawa 2 stroke special in Period 3 and I am intrigued to find out what was done to the bike to take it from the 15hp of the standard bike to whatever it is putting out now. It sees off most Period 3 350cc machines without much effort. Although, having watched Buster in the 70s and also seeing the back of him in the early 80s, when I was racing 250 Production bikes, I think Buster's riding ability may have something to do with it.

I don't need him to give me his secrets, just point me in the right direction.

Hi John, the meteoric Jawa in question is tuned by an old bloke named Bill Barfield, and while Buster's riding is a large part of the equation, that thing is certainly a jet and was also fast in the hands of Clive Harrop before Buster. I'd imagine the HMRAV could put you in touch with both Bill and Buster, ph 0413 999 194, or maybe post an enquiry on the Classic Motorcycling Australia web forum, John Daley and crew hang on there quite a lot.

Thanks mate.... I know John Daley, he bought my VF1000 powered outfit off of me back when I was living in Sydney. I'll contact him, perhaps Buster is not the best guy to call......... It seems that bill Garfield is the guy I need to speak to....
