Wow, what happened at Silverstone today  - only just got home from watching the Tour de France to find a completely crazy mixed-up grid. I'm guessing there was rain - it was hot and sunny all afternoon in Harrogate so I was kind of expecting Silverstone to have got away with it as well and it have been a normal dry qualifying. Can't wait to catch up - should be a cracking race tomorrow hopefully!!!

Anyone knows what the weather should be for the race?

BBC's Ian Ferguson saying they need to wait until Sunday morning for more accurate GP forecast, but beginning of race should be sunny and dry. As the afternoon progresses there's a 60% chance of showers expected, and there is a good chance they could be heavy. Could be a real "cracker" if he's right!

The person I was replying to was implying that Lewis is somehow not as intelligent as the other drivers- all the while attributing the entire episode to sub-optimal grey matter rather than a mistake that is so easy to make.

You're confusing a driving mistake with an error of judgement, and you're also confusing decisions which are the driver's call with team decisions.

Alonso got knocked out because his run was ill-timed, and then he went off on a wet track on slick tyres. So there's two mistakes there, one of which isn't really the driver's call (Alonso's not the weatherman), and the other of which isn't anybody's call, it's just a driving error. Hamilton, on the other hand, qualified poorly because he  aborted his lap because he judged that he could not improve. That's the driver's call. All the information that is relevant to that call is available to the driver, and not so much to the team, including the last known condition of the track in the last sector, compared to the first run, which was the key factor that allowed others to make the right decision, and could have allowed Hamilton to do the same.

Every other driver either stayed in the garage, which was a mistake they made together with their team, or improved their time. Only one driver went out and failed to read the conditions.

Hamilton thought he would hold Rosberg back and ensure his pole. What a sore looser. Nico complained on radio ask Hamilton to be fast and barely made it before light turned red on Hamilton's gearbox. Had the last sector not improved like it did on the penultimate lap, Hamilton had all but ensured that Rosberg didnt get the lap in. He would have resulted in Merc qualifying 6th and 7th. Hats off to Rosberg. Talent is great, but if your head aint in it, hanging out with Hollywood friends and just banking on your talent is not good enough.
Hamilton was almost gifted championship in 2007 when Ron favored him and he choked. In 2008 with a much superior car and inferior competition driver (Massa) he very nearly lost the championship by self inflicted wounds. 2008 was a battle of who is the poorer driver between Massa and Hamilton and Hamilton came out on top because of Singapore's self goal from Massa.

Now with 2 equal drivers status in team, with Wolff slightly favoring Hamilton (only slightly) strategy wise. Where they allow Hamilton to pit before Rosberg even if Rosberg is leading. Or change Rosberg's tyre strategy in middle stints of 2 races but never changed Hamilton's strategy when he was chasing Rosberg. All those things unabaited, Rosberg who has less natural talent, is showing Hamilton how its done.

Once the weekend is over, Hamilton goes with his fancy friends to Hollywood Blvd and Rosberg sits with his engineers going over the details. His head is in it to win it.

Honestly the worst post on this board today. That's accomplishment with some of the people here. Hamilton certainly did not try to hold Rosberg up, watch the replays Perez was holding them up. Can't be bothered to explain more but if Lewis wanted to hold Rosberg up he could of easily cruised round for the rest of the lap and been fine, Rosberg wouldn't of set a better time and he would of guaranteed himself to be higher. I'm not going to even comment about the favouring post, I hope you lose sleep over that.

And he did not choke in 2007, else we should bring up a certain Alonso crash or the whole of the first half of Kimi year? But I'm sure hamilton hit a switch on his steering wheel and I also heard that driving on the canvass of a tyre works really well!

Oh and yeah the McLaren was certainly the superior car in 2008, not a certain red car!

It's annoying as fan of this sport that I have to read through posts that have become all to frequent on this board.

Well, the championship's over.

Fortunately not! Thanks to the great idea of double points in the last race, the championship discission will go down the wire.

Nico is better than Lewis, but he won´t be ahead by 50 points or more before Abu Dhabi.

What makes you think he won't be 50 points ahead by the time double points? The way things are panning out

Given your track record on Ferrari thread I can bet my every dime that any your predictions wont come true :rotfl: So I am willing to bet no DNF's for Nico!

My track record? Hate to brag, but I think its generally pretty good.

I also didn't predict anything. Was just stating the situation, not what I think is going to happen.

I expect Lewis to stabilize enough to keep it below 50.
