I can't really foresee anything other than 2 Mercs and Vettel on the podium, unless one of them has major problems. Whether it's Hamilton or Vettel 2nd will depend on how long it takes Hamilton to get through traffic. It should be an interesting race watching some of those drivers who are out of place race through the field though, including Hamilton but also of course the Ferraris and Williams.

In 2013, Silverstone had the most overtaking manoeuvres (90) made on any track in the season.

Hoping we get to see at least a few being made today!

I hope will racing will be in the lead role today, not blown tyres.
Unless there's rain or a mechanical failure, I think it will be a straightforward win for Rosberg. Preserve tyres and fuel for when Lewis arrives, which he will if he keeps his cool. Curious what the Williams' and Ferrari's will do at the back, I doubt all four of them will score points.

Been totally off from FPs and Qualy so this will be my first and only live session this weekend
My bet is that Rosberg will pull away at the start and Hamilton to come through.
It will be interesting to see what the RBRs can do!

To be honest, I almost didn't tune in for the quali yesterday, because I simply wasn't that much interested after all that artificial stuff in last couple of weeks. Anyway, glad I did, that quali was great. I think, that after all those threats from fans, some people stopped watching F1 and don't come to those threads anymore. Or maybe 99% of this forum was British and is at Silverstone.

Intriguing race we've got lined up for us. If Lewis had qualified sixth with two Ferraris and two Red Bulls between him and Rosberg, he'd probably be quite confident of making his way through the field. With two Mclarens and a Force India I'm not so sure. There's no question that the Mercedes is a much better car than all those mentioned but what he needs is an advantage in a straight line. Looking forward to seeing how the Ferraris and Williamses attack the soft underbelly of F1 2014 too.
Good warmup for the Pocono 500 and that tennis match, definitely.

Yeah, weather report on bbc says slightest chance of a rain shower at the end of the race, but, unlikely. Expect a dry race - Brazil 2012 was the last time we had wet racing I beleive. That must be a record.
My prediction:
Rosberg wins, Lewis and Vettel on the podium, any order, Ricciardo 4th, on the podium if Ham / Vet drop out.

Forza Ferrari.
EDIT: As for weather, the main bulk of the rain has moved off now, but there's still going to be a lingering threat of very spotty showers throughout the day.

#F1 #SILVERSTONE #BRITISHGP #BBCF1 SUN Brighter spells becoming more widespread from W. Shower probability: 15% at 1pm rising to 40% by 3pm.
So likely to be dry but I think any showers could potentially be quite sharp

Its not going to rain, and at the front it should be fairly straightforward with Nico, Lewis and probably Vettel afterwards.
But the midfield should be fun to watch.

We should have an epic race in our hands, but then again that's what I thought after Austria qualifying.
Fingers crossed this will be better.

Belgium 1985 -> Britain 1988 is the record, at least in the modern era. I think. We'd need to go till halfway through 2015 to beat that.

I don't know if its a record, but I certainly miss wet races during an F1 season. I am left wondering when the next one will be, its been a full season and a half since we last had one.

Most likely we will only get dry + mixed conditions, given how every single time bloody Charlie red flags the race the moment drivers go on full wets I doubt this will ever happen.

Rain doesn't look likely at all. (….sadly. I think it would've helped Hamilton's cause.)
My hopes are for a fantastic drive from Hamilton, winning the race to the spectators wild roar. And for Button to somehow get on the podium. I say "somehow" 'cause they don't have the pace to end up there even from third.
It's going to be exciting to see the two Ferraris and Williamses going forward, but I think they might stop their progress at either Ricciardo, Force India or Magnussen.

Will be interesting to see the start today, with the mix in positions of the teams compared to 'normal', and 4 of the faster teams at the back, and some of the slower teams in the middle it can be seen as a test of what to expect in the mid race re-starts in 2015.
#33

So I'm predicting a comfortable Mercedes 1-2, with Rosberg ahead. And watch out for The Hulk getting past Vettel as well.

And I fully predict nothing will happen. All these drivers have start from the front, middle and back, so it shouldn't be an issue. And there is so much asphalt round the first corners the worst that will happen will be drivers going wide.

Funny, this year i really want Seb to win the British GP unlike last year. With Rosberg 2nd. Or Lewis winning and Seb 2nd and Rosberg nowhere.
