And I guess nobody wants Mr. Wolff to be unhappy...

Why? Who's afraid of the big...lol....forget it! :/

Well done DC that was awesome, didn't win by default, he won because of his super-fast driving!

Have to say it felt really strange watching ROC and not seeing Schumacher and Vettel there.

Finally a "title" again from DC after last winning the Macau GP in 91 - and his only actual title from Formula Ford 1.6l in 1989! Took some time!

DC fast in a car rubbish at opening a bottle of champagne! Congratulations to DC! Really enjoyed that, the race of champions deserves a lot of praise. It was a great event and I hope they hold it in Barbados again next year. Oh and more of the trucks in it please. :)

Agree with all. Much better seeing ROC at a more suitable venue, rather than squashed into half empty football stadiums.

Yeah, why was DC in AMG Merc' overalls? On their fb-page, AMG Merc' F1 is calling him a brand ambassador. OK, I knew he was, but previous years he's raced with Red Bull-overalls. He's been a Red Bull ambassador as well but maybe no more? That engagement must've recently stopped then.

He drove Mercedes cars for years in DTM!

Coulthard definitely had 3 Weetabix for breakfast today.  A dominating performance in what ever car they gave him to drive.

Best bit was Stig Blomqvist demonstrating the Audi Quattro Sport - even better than those trucks.

I miss them terribly. The German Team was unbeatable.

I saw them live in Düsseldorf and it was awesome. The ROC is great fun.

I was probably DC-supporter number 1 here (when he was still active in F1), so I know he's been racing in the DTM, and also wrote that I am aware that he is a brand ambassador for Mercedes.

What I'm asking is what's going on with his Red Bull-duties, as he's more often than not (always??) donned that racing overall.

No big deal :)

I'll fall asleep today too.

The grid definitely weakened a bit lately without Button, Vettel and Schumacher. Coulthard deserved this one though, he still beat quite a bunch of legends and he was constantly on it. He must have thought 'This will be my year'.

Lucky the event happened to fall on one of those couple of weekends a year when DC's unbeatable!

Well now one of them can say he beat an official f1 test driver.

Won the Barbados Race of Champions on Friday.
While they might not be champions in a world-sense, I think it is nice to have a local team.

Finally! Great job David! Always supported you in F1, always will outside of it. May this one taste as a F1 Title!

They reached the semifinals on Saturday at the Race of Nations.

On Sunday, Watson did the best he could, not worse than other "better known" drivers.  :smoking:

It's back in a stadium, so who cares?  I hoped that Barbados might persuade them to stick to half reasonable tracks, but no.

Always reminds of the Vettel - Schumacher team - they were really strong at ROC as a team (and got drunk the night after).

Nico Hülkenberg joins Vettel for Team Germany this year. Pretty strong pairing. Might very well lead to Vettel's 7th Team cup win in his 7th attempt.

It's a tragedy that we will never see Schumacher triumphing alongside him again, though.

Crofty will be at the ROC this year although he's tweeted me saying he won't be doing commentary that weekend:

https://twitter.com/...357473916026880

Which means Sky are likely taking the World Feed that weekend although Crofty will be there so I think Sky may cut to their own links at some point:

EDIT: Crofty says that Sky are taking the World Feed:

  • Australia: Ricciardo/Doohan
  • Brazil: Massa/Piquet
  • Scotland: Coulthard/Wolff
  • Scandinavia: Kristensen/Sollberg

Jason Plato has confirmed he won't be in the same team as Button, and that he's waiting to find who his team mate will be. My guess is that it'll be another 'All Star' team. Maybe Plato/Hunter-Reay?

Also says he'd like Lewis to come along...

Only if they ditch the dud stadium concept. Barbados last year is the way to do it properly.

Title 'Race of Champions' always reminds me of F1 at Brands Hatch-think I went to all of those.

Indeed, it was step in the right direction (back towards the Gran Canaria loveliness) but they got scared that it might be getting close to a legitmate race so they added some mickey mouse chicanes at the 11th hour so they could dish out penalties to the one's they didn't like.

I'm not cynical, honest.

Not to mention that Barbados (or Gran Canaria) is rather more inviting than Stratford in November.
